Greg's Vinyl Falls Run
A Die Hard Boater See's An Opportunity
Do ya ever get a wild hair?  Ever meet a class V boater who's going through low water withdrawls?  You know, the kind most likely to occur when the river flows are just to low to make for a challenging run.
If an opportunity presents itself - take it.  Greg did so on Silver Creek up in the high Sierras.
While camping late in the summer and enjoying the serenity of a beautiful pool fed by a series of waterfalls, Greg saw an opportunity.  "I can run that." he said.
It wasn't long till Greg returned from his van (yes, at one time he lived in his van. . .down by the river) with an inflated Sevylor vinyl boat, pfd, helmet and paddle.  If I remember right, the boat was called the Sevylor 'Challenger'  "Looks kinda hairy in a few spots" I said, "I'll standby with a throw line". . .(like that'll do any good, ha!)

Preparing for the big run
Barely enough room for the paddle!
Greg finishes with a clean run all the way to the pool.  Now that's some fine class V boater form!
"The river churned and roared down the mountain.  Cutting it's way through solid granite throughout the milleniums.  Powerful hydraulics pound the massive boulders with a thunderous roar, carving the rock into elaborate forms.  At times, even carrying huge boulders and timbers cascading down the mountain. . .and then some dude comes along with a shitty little vinyl boat & sez. . ."I can run that."                    RiverChucky
