Well, this is going
to be the section dedicated to that cute little corner
of the world, that cockfight known as economics. As of
late, you may have noticed the BOOM! in your backyard,
but that's just the police lobbying another tear gas
canister at those pesky "anti-globalization"
protestors. While the media has tried to
portray us as stupid children who have nothing better
to do with our time besides try to stand in the way of
their global juggernauts of power, otherwise known as
the NAFTA agreements, the World Trade Organization,
the World Bank, the Free Trade Agreement of the
Americas, or whatever stupid plot those hardcore, yet
ironically labeled laizze-faire capitalists have
concocted to cover their plans to steal everything, I
think that the ideas behind the opposition are a lot
more in-depth and wise than CNN likes to let on. Well,
they would let on about it, if they even acknowledged
our existence. I guess it's more important to show
Allen Greenspan throw up his hands in the air,
exclaiming "Hey, you elected him, not me! I can't
deal with this!" while Michael Moore shouts at
him "Hey, WE didn't vote for him.... he stole the
election!" while the panel screams for blood;
anyone's blood, it doesn't matter. Just something to
satisfy their lust. In other words, while the
mainstream media of North America has completely gone
insane, real journalists, and real thinkers have been
organizing a resistance to something that we should
be talking about and worrying.... the state of our
world, and how those who have taken the self-appointed
role of governing our planet are doing so.
You see, I've come to believe that the economic
policies behind our system simply do not work for you
and I, not to mention the children in the Andes, nor
the mothers in the Indonesian sweatshops, and every
other hardworking Joette and Joe. There is just
something about "trickle down economics"
that bothers me to my core. Maybe it's the fact that
brilliant thinking like that has turned the greatest
economy, the US's, into the one the furthest in debt,
and continuing to spiral out of control in a dive that
shows no sign of ending. Or maybe the fact that we're
starting to have wars about the Earth's resources, in
our "advanced" age. Or the fact that
Einstein and others predicted this decades ago. But I
dunno, I'm just another dumb kid in the streets. Me
and thousands of others. Guess we're being fooled by
logic, or something.
Either way, here's the section about Global Economics.
Read some of the articles, essays, and reports on the
bar on the right, and decide for yourself what you
think of the policies that govern the world, and the
thoughts, ideals, and philosophies of the people who
actually care about something that's NOT money, money,
money... a progressive society. I won't link anything
that supports the right, cause 1) it's crap, you know
that; and 2) CNN, Fox, ABC, NBC, and Clear Channel
already have tremendous advertising budgets. They
don't need my help. Or yours. Or
anyone's. |
