I WAS BEFORE
BUT WILL THEY STILL CALL ME

West coast public enemy number one
that is what they used to call me
but they could never get a hold on me
not before the day
they forced someone to inform
against me
and that is the worst thing
that is possible to do to a man
when you treat him to betray his
nearest friends
just so you can nail them
and put them into jail
and afterwards they have the nerve
to call it very good
and glittering police work
and all they did
was to lock someone in and wait
for the nervous
break down that was bound to come
since they deny people their rights
when you get no smoke
and regular food and water
and the bright lights shine 24 hours
and after a week they know
that you are ready to sell your soul
even if you know
that a prison cell is the next place
and your friends are long gone forever

You will never find anyone
who never has done anything wrong
and if there is no evidence you are truly
innocent and clean
because words can be twisted and bent

and now I have been locked in for 2 years
in a little cell
and in my heart there is hard to find
any forgiveness
to my old friends who dragged me down
with them
but I have learned that crime
does not pay
in anyway at all
but it is too sad that it has to be
based upon
broken friendship just because of the
honest police
and their methods that can't be called
craftsmanship
it would be much better
if they concentrated to finally take somebody
in the act
so there really never would be any doubt
and also understand more about the prevention
of crime
but society must never turn into 1984
nobody will ever earn anything then
or maybe we should all keep on pretending
that we are at the top of the world
and in charge
