HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT IT

Don't you know that there are
people depending on you
and how much sorrow and pain
are you willing to give them in return
for their care and love
before you turn around
and show your family and friends
that there is courage in your cold heart
and that you finally are prepared to do something smart
such as quitting
pushing stealing dealing and killing
for no reason at all

You are just a little boy
who thinks he is the toughest and meanest
and I wonder when
somebody will call you a real man

Don't you know that you only have one life
and that you will never get a second chance
to undo the wrong things you are involved in
and when you one day
are willing to give an apology to your family and friends
some of them may have passed away and others have cried
too many times over you to even consider letting you
come in to their house or life again
and so you are alone
like you have been for the most of your lonely life
that is why you have to understand
that communication is the only possible way
you have to open up before it gets too late
and hate and anger consume you
and then there is nothing you can do to prevent
your whole life from getting totally lost

Don't you know that there is something called love
and it is the best thing there is
but you can never buy or trade or steal it
you can find and you can receive and give love
but first you have to know what to look for
don't you know that you can become alive and feel real
if you do those things that you are supposed to do
and if you don't
you can never really say that you have a life
since you don't know what it is all about
just live your life and you will soon find out
that there is nothing to hope for
