I should have known better
and so should you
unfortunately you died
and I survived
but I have got some deep scares
that always will remind me of stupidity
and that we humans don't learn
unless we get heavily burned
and even then it sometimes ain't enough

Life can be incredibly good
but it can also
give you a cheap coffin of solid wood

We should have known better
in so many ways
but we were young and wanted all the fun
that German cars and Japanese bikes
could bring around to boys like us
and we never cared about what it might cost
and we drove our lives to the edge every day
and in the night time we used a whole lot of speed
and we never thought about those who lost
their young lives in the race

You should have known better
and so should I
but life includes the full right to choose
and sometimes somebody loses
that is why it is important to understand
that wrong choices can bring you down into the ground
and they who are left behind
can never really get some answers why
it turned out like it did
today or tomorrow
it can happen to you
so learn how to love before it is all over
and there is nothing left

I should have known better
and acted like a man
when I saw things began to come out of hand
but maybe I was too selfish and young to admit
that I cared about anything
not even life or death
