I wish I could be
a master of conversation
but I am afraid that I am
just a thinker
when it comes to talking
I prefer to be walking
I always know what to say
but when it is time
all the words have flown away
and I can only talk about
the problems of every day

I wish I could be
like a shining movie star
smiling so white to the near and far
but I am just an ordinary man
who has been in and out of love
too many times
but still have the will to try one more time
hey this is life
why sit most of the time behind closed doors
when there is someone out there
who is looking just for you
to hold in the hand and wipe tears
when you get so pleased
that you cry and smile at the same time
wake up now
and throw away
all your stupid worries and fears
that you believe are inside of you
nobody can live your life for you

not a single word will pass me by

I will never make you feel sorry

I wish I could use every sense completely
then I would never fear anything
and I would be the master of my life finally
but I am only a regular man
who must take life as it comes
and try to learn from my repeating mistakes
I wish I could be like superman all the time
but it only happens when I dream
and not in daily life
but still I am glad I am alive
