Perhaps one common to all men. Automobiles always bring forth feelings of speed, power and to some
extent independence.
The love of automobiles started right from the age of four when my father bought a Lambretta 150Li. Twelve years later,
I learnt my riding on the same scooter. After riding many types of two wheelers (less than 350cc capacity), I still find it a
nice and stable vehicle to ride, due to the flexible engine, and long wheelbase.
A long time favourite dream car is a Porsce 911, and dream bikes, well give me any sports/ tourer with an engine over 600cc,
some thing like Triumph tiger, or Honda CBR series. Somehow those Harley look alikes have not caught my fancy, not
that I dislike them.

No one can deny the beauty of a train winding along a mountain slope, with a evergreen forest, a tunnel, and a bridge
over a waterfall, and light rain. The picture in my memory of arriving into Goa by train is imprinted perhaps for ever.
Railways fascinate in a way different from automobiles. Perhaps it is the sense of stability, the orderliness in which the
wagons follow the engine. Not to mention the awesome power of the engines that tug the wagons along the two slim rails.
The metre gauge built by the Portuguese is now replaced by a broad gauge, and the quaint steam engine by a diesel loco.
The beautiful stations of the past are being slowly being replaced by ghastly and awkward objects of glass, cement, and
aluminium. The aesthetic sense of earlier generations, and their love for the things they built is now being lost slowly.
Today we are too involved in ourselves, and the money we make.
