PALM I give a heartfelt salute to the venerable Palm™ PDA. I used the Compaq™ iPAQ™ Pocket PC for awhile and despite it's capabilities, I'm back to using the Palm™. I've been a Palm™ user since 1996. That's when I bought my PalmPilot 5000 with a whopping 512KB of memory. I was even crazy enough to pay $299.99 for it. I still have it (cracked screen, and all). I moved over to the iPAQ because it attracted me with its bright display and usability. I was a happy user for the first month or two. Watching a video... playing an MP3... playing ZioGolf... After the initial pizzazz of the iPAQ wore off, I found that everyday use boiled down to the main strengths of an electronic organizer: CONTACTS, SCHEDULING, AND MEMOS... As great as the iPAQ was, it couldn't do those three things better than a Palm™ (my own opinion, of course). Well, you can guess what happened next... The iPAQ was scrapped and I bought myself the nifty new Palm™ m505. The screen isn't as pretty and bright as the iPAQ, but it fits in my pocket ("PocketPC" is way off the mark in it's name), I don't have to charge it everyday, and I find it much more usable.
