Why rip_visitor ?
I started visiting cemeteries in the 1980ies. The primary goal was to find and record the final resting places of artists, musicians & composers. Well known and applauded during their hay day, a good number of them vanish during the last years of their lives � forgotten by all and often in total anonymity if not in indigent circumstances. Others, buried with honours are forgotten just a couple of generations later. So I have put them back on the map by recording their presence, photographing their graves and for some I have reported the find to the local authorities. Satisfying results obtained through contacts with historians, priests or local authorities responsible for the burials. And of course through letters to other cemetery visitors who sometimes documented their finds in a book. |

Pourquoi rip_visitor ?
J�ai commenc� � visiter les cimeti�res dans les ann�es 80. L�id�e premi�re �tait de retrouver et d�enregistrer les derni�res demeures d�artistes, musiciens ou compositeurs. Tr�s connue et applaudis durant leurs ann�es de gloires, un bon nombre d�entre eux dissparaissent dans les derni�res ann�es de vie : oubli� de tous, souvent dans l�anonima le plus complet et pas rarement indigent. Alors que d�autres, mis en terre avec les honneurs sont oubli�s par les g�n�rations suivantes. En enregistrant leurs pr�cense, en photographiant leurs tombe et en rapportant la trouvaille aux authorit�s locales, je leur ai rendu une certaine l�gitimit�. Des r�sultats satisfaisant gr�ce aux contacts avec historiens, pr�tres ou authorit�s locales responsables des ensevlissement. Et biensur par la correspondance avec d�autres visiteurs de cimeti�res qui ont quelques fois consigner leurs trouvailles dans un livre. |

Classical Music : My collection of over a 1000 cd's + more music in mp3 format, is eclectic and diverse : from baroc to the late romantics ... with pianoforte, violin, works for wind instruments and also to harp & gitar. It is all there. My favourite composer = Hummel, Johann Nepomuk (see next) and my favourite period is pre-romanticism or late classicism : 1780 - 1830 ... with people like Hummel, Moscheles, Field, Cramer, J L Dusek, Dussik, even FX Mozart, Parish Alvars, but I do like other composers from other periods as well : JS Bach, Vivaldi, Haendel / Mozart, V Beethoven / Ravel, Saint-Saens. I also have a fine selection of Belgian composers : Vieuxtemps, Gossec, Ysaye, Lekeu, Paque, Franck, ... I shall create a list with the cd's later and put it on line, if I can find a way to make this Pagebuilder accept it. |

Historical Detective Novels :
from France in the late 18th century to England in the late Victorian age. I am into classics like Sherlock Holmes (Doyle), Hercules Poirot (Christie)... and Jules Maigret (Simenon). But also Anne Perry's Pitt or Monk Novels Other victorian age : Robin Paige "Death at .." series. En francais : J F PArot "Inspecteur Nicolas le Floch" .Collection 10/18. |
