Exchange rates for past several years - current (June 2002) rate is $2.52 Brazilian Real to 1 US Dollar.
This graph shows the exchange rate started at 2.50 on June 2 and is 2.79 on July 11. An increase of 11.6% in just over a month. Also, note that this rate was even higher (2.896) earlier in July.
The exchange rate was 1 dollar to 3 Reals on August 2, 2002
