The city of Guapimirim is located in the State of Rio De Janeiro, being part of the Serrana Region.
The city is located in a valley formed by the base of the Finger of God, 52 miles (84 km) from Rio de Janeiro.
According to the 2000 census, the population is estimated to be 37,857 inhabitants. This population is distributed in the following areas: Valley of the Pedrinhas, Vila Ol�mpia, Citrol�ndia, Stopped Ideal, Park Eug�nia Saint, Stopped Model, Paradise, Monte Olivete, Barrier, Fine Mug, Center, Demijohn, Limoeiro and Iconha, beyond the areas Ambient Preservation and the region where the Sub-headquarters of the National Park of the Saw of the Agencies are situated.
