Ah, the day after the debate meet. In a way I'm sorry it's over. Yeah, it was a lot of work, and it was really draining all day yesterday, but I got to see a lot of my friends that I hadn't seen since the last southeast meet, last year. Aslo, I did very well in the meet. I placed second with my Expository speech (Expos). An expos is a speech that is meant to teach about a topic. I also got Second place in Speaker Points. Meaning, out of all the debaters there, I was the second best. And, the sweetest one of all, my partner, Brandon Haskins, and I placed second in Debate. We beat everyone else except one team.
I'm not trying to sound cocky here at all. I'm just letting you all know how I did. But, it does feel pretty good to know that I have a chance this year in debate. The next meet is Nov. 12th, in Juneau.
In other news, the Tsunami TV crew videotaped the 9th Army Band today as part of the Alaska Day Celebration. The last half of the performance was rock, and they were really good. Also, because of Alaska day, we have a half day at school tomorrow. That means I get to go out on my boat with my mom, yay. BTW, if you don't hear from me for a while, call the coast guard. lol. |
