N.A.R.A. Championships 2002

The North American Ringsport Championships
October 4-6, 2002

This is an unofficial report of the NARA Championships.

I had the pleasure to attend the championships on the last day of this remarkable event, Sunday the 6th. Although I did not attend the first two days, you can see from scores that there were some excellent performances!

The Championships were held in New Hartford, Conneticut, USA. The field setup was unique. It is the training field for the kennel which was generously the host of the trial. The field itself is set down about 6 to 8 feet below the rest of the facility, which gave the spectators a clear view of the entire field as they sat above at the edge of the retaining wall.

There were competitors from the USA, France and Mexico all striving to achieve the top score and win the very FIRST NARA Cup! Each level demonstrated excellent and tough competition. Friday were the Brevets and Ring 1s, Saturday the Ring 2s, and Sunday the Ring 3s. Friday and most of Saturday were cloudy/rainy, but Sunday morning was a chilly bright morning in New England. Great weather for competition.

Terry Davis with Marko put on a performance to remember for years! It was a nearly flawless performance, superb handling and team work! This is what all competitors strive for - way to go Terry and Marko!

I borrowed a camera (unfortunately without telephoto lense). Click on an image to see a larger view.
