Choosing the right heat lamp for your reptile is as easy as knowing what temperature it prefers to bask in. Brand name, size and shape are not as important as how much heat it produces. The temperature is measured at the point of basking inside the enclosure.
Remember that reptiles are not self-regulating. They need warm and cool areas to adjust their body temperature. A difference of 5-10 degrees or as much as 35-40 degrees may be required by your pet.
Night time should drop 10-15 degrees. Red or black lights may be needed to heat if you keep your pet in a very cold room.
