• 6.19.04, 10:11pm - Joanie Loves Chachi!:  I saw Dodgeball last night.  Sure it had its unfunny moments, but it really wasn't that bad of a film.  I think Vince Vaughn is great in movies like this, although he wasn't as good in this one as he was in Old School.

It wasn't until I happened to be flipping by Craig Kilborn last night (trust me, I don't normally watch Kilborn) that I finally figured out where I had seen Dodgeball co-star Christine Taylor before (besides the fact that she's Ben Stiller's wife and she was in the Brady Bunch movies and Zoolander)...

Here is Christine Taylor today...



...and here (in the upper left) she is in Hey Dude , a show that aired on Nickelodeon around 1990.  I had a giant crush on her at the time, but not giant enough to create an unofficial fan site for the show.

Something else I found funny about Dodgeball: a sampling of the results turned up by a simple search for "dodgeball" on IMDb.com ...

Elsewhere in the world, Kim's brother Eric and his fiance Julie were married today at a beach ceremony in Florida.  I'm sure it was beautiful.  I wouldn't know because I wasn't there.  I'm allergic to sunny skies and beautiful weather.  Congratulations to the happy couple!

• 6.5.04, 6:53pm - Gloomy Day:  Today is not the greatest of days, that is if you like nice weather, Belmont Stakes favorites, and former presidents.  It's been raining for most of the day, Smarty Jones didn't win the Triple Crown, and Ronald Reagan has died.

 
Anyway, I have made some changes to the movies page .  I now have a list of the last ten movies I've seen, including pretty colorful pictures and (short) reviews.  Some design flaws need to be fixed, but if you're bored, take a little time to check it out.

Kim and I saw Mean Girls last night, and I have to say it was better than I expected it to be, mostly because of the involvement of current and former SNL folks like Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, and Lorne Michaels.  It was a much smarter teen chick flick than I thought it would be.

The best part was that the dress the head "mean girl" wore to the obligatory teen chick flick spring dance was the exact dress that Kim will wear as a bridesmaid at her brother's wedding.  Nobody else would find that funny, but the two of us did.
