BUDGET DEBATE - CUT SPENDING FIRST
There should be no debate about the need to balance our budget and pay down our staggering debt. The problem is that ALL the proposed plans advanced by our political leaders completely ignore spending programs that benefit those who underwrite their campaigns. This is underscored by the fact that NONE of the proposed balancing plans is honest in that the flow of red ink will continue under EVERY plan proposed by our political leaders. All involve steep budgetary savings in dedicated revenue funds, thus shortchanging taxpayers and channeling funds to support spending that benefits their sponsors. This is criminal!
