Score Game One: 32-23 ROCK Who Was There: Ysatis, Krusty, Sketchems, Madbison, Hiwaystar, SixthRhyme, Summoner, Baggirl, Rockhead, Hope and the Turbo Twins (Nite and Wolf) MVR: so many pebbles, so little time....THIRD ROCK FROM DJIBOUTI note: Biggie, Rocky we missed you guys! Talk about Pride Rock (a little Lion King humor there)....we were rocking with pride as we met up with the season-long leader LOL for a head-to-head showdown for claims on first place. And can you say AAAHHHWWWOOO? The teams were evenly matched and the competition was great (the blood was flowing....) but the AVALANCHE prevailed! The first game started deadlocked 5-5 in Directors, then we took a slight lead (9-7) in South Pacific Islands. The lead may have been slight, but Team Rock refused to let it go. We increased the margin in each of the next two cats, then finished by jumping ahead by 7 on Catholic Clergy (32-23....and yes, I was praying!) The second game started much like the first...we were howling, they were laughing and the score was 5-5. We took the lead in FISHING, then increased it to 19-11 in Tori Amos (Smells Like Underdog!) We got 6 more points (and if 6 were 9, you'd be a quee school of math grad..) and the score was 25-15 after American Lakes; then we brought it all home (like we plan to do with that trophy!) in the Toy Story cat (any cat where you can score with "Etch a Sketch" has to be a ROCK cat....and it was; the final score was 32-18!!!) AAAHHHWWWOOO Rocks, I am so proud of you! Great game, great season, LOL! We look forward to seeing you (and rocking again) in the playoffs!! Game 1: 30-23 (rats)
Present: Ev-, Buffylou, Lauren, Butterbby, Jimon, Sinsear, wattle, Corwin, MVP: Jimon and Sinsear! Commentary by Lauren: The Rats decided it was time to come out of the sewer and into the tourney room. It has been a rare thing to see so many rats in the same room lately...and it was really wonderful to see! A personal and warm welcome to Jimon, our newest Rat... connected at the hip (and loving every minute of it!) to wifey Sinsear! Game 1 was status quo all the way and just seemed to turn our way half way through it. Game 2 was pretty much the same way until the last category, which happened to be a double pointer on spanish cities....which we pummeled out way through and claimed victory. Good game wonders. You are a pleasure to play with. |
