As you might imagine, riding a bicycle 500 miles in 7 days warrants some preparation.  It's generally recommended to get in between 1000 and 1500 miles of training to be ready for the ride.  Since I live in Chicago, the winter months are challenging to say the least to train on a bike.  But this year I have invested in an indoor trainer so I can get some time in even though it's nice and cold outside.  I'll post my weekly progress here....
