rohn's disease & Ulcerative Colitis is an incurable disease that affects approximately 1 million Americans of all ages, genders, and creeds.  The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's mission is to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.

y name is Tiffany, and I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago with Crohn's disease at the ripe age of 26.  It took the doctors a while to figure out what was going on with me, and like many crohn's patients I did not have an answer for quite some time.  Spending an inordinate amount of time at doctor's appointments, having the gamut of tests run and re-run, I began to question my own sanity.  Being blessed with a diligent GI, I have now began to treat my disease and am pushing hard to find remission.  If you'd like, you can read my whole story here.  I also suggest you visit the Randy link to read about another young person affected by Crohn's disease.

efore I started to get sick, I was an avid cyclist.  Determined not to let this disease get the better of my life, I have remained as true to the sport as I can.  In July of 2004, I am once again participating in the Register's Annual Great Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) - a 500 mile ride across the state of Iowa over 7 days.  A feat I have accomplished in the past, I am using this year's ride to raise money for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America to help their cause to find a cure for all who suffer from Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis.

My target fundraising goal is $10,000

The Des Moines Register is in no way affiliated with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.  RAGBRAI rider fees and fundraising dollars are donated to local Iowa charities and not to the CCFA.  I am using this ride as a means to collect donations outside of any purpose of RAGBRAI for the CCFA.  All donations collected go directly to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.
