Ultramen's Weapons

Ultraman Taroh's Weapons

Ultraman Taroh is the supposedly the mightiest of the original Ultramen. Evidently, fighting with blue plastic buckets is the stuff of only the best warriors.

Storium Ray

Storium Ray
SUTORIUMU KOHSEN

Ultraman Taroh's primary T-style laser weapon. Intense hand-waving necessary prior to firing, in order to gather energy from the surrounding space. The laser colors are rather opaque, if that's possible. (Source(s): [DZS2], p. 55; [WP4], p. 48; [HSW], p. 104).

Atomic Punch
ATOMIKKU PANCHI

A rather unique weapon, in which Taroh uses the energy from his transformation and growth to giant size as a catapult to give monsters a good sock. Great way to start a fight. However, I really hate the toy model of Taroh with the big fist that is used. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 105).

Ultra Dynamite

Ultra Dynamite
URUTORA DAINAMAITO

Taroh's ultimate weapon, in which he uses all of his energy to self-immolate, and blow up his entire body. As long as Taroh's heart survives, he is able to revive from this horrific weapon. Kind of silly, don't you think? Used in episode 35 against Katan-seijin, when Taroh is blinded and must be guided to the alien using a bell attached by ZAT. An oft-mentioned but never used laser from Taroh's Beam Lamp. Similar to Ultraseven's Emerium Ray or Ultraman Ace's Punch Laser.

Ultraman Leo's Weapons

Ultraman Leo starts the series out with no laser weapons, but specializes in hand-to-hand martial combat. I'm featuring only a tiny fraction of his non-laser weapons here. Though he never develops a standard signature laser like everyone else, Leo nevertheless starts zapping beams left and right as the series progresses, culminating in an antithetical full-body laser. His other non-laser weapons are pretty zany as well.

Leo Kick

Leo Kick
REO KIKKU

Leo jumps 1000 meters into the air and puts all of his energy into his right foot, which glows red. Mostly frequently used to finish off enemies, but primarily used in the first half of the series. Full-Body Radiation

Full-Body Radiation
ZEN-SHIN HAKKOH

Here is the non-laser, martial arts hand-to-hand combat Ultra firing a full-body laser. This weapon is interesting to me because it is the fundamental antithesis of everything Leo was intended to be at the beginning of the series. Usually decisive in battle, and causes monsters to either fall over and die, explode, or burn up. (Source(s): [80STMP], pp. 8-9; [DZS2], p. 93; [HSW], pp. 114-5).

Buckle Beam

Buckle Beam
