Ultramen's
Weapons
Ultraseven's Weapons
Ultraseven
has a wider variety of weapons than the original Ultraman,
which he uses to combat monsters and aliens. His are by far the most innovative
of all the weapons from sequel Ultra series.
Emerium
Ray (Type A)
EMERIUMU KOHSEN (EH-GATA)
A concentrated beam emitted from
the beam lamp on Ultraseven's forehead. Index and middle fingers of both
hands meet above the beam lamp. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79).
Emerium
Ray (Type B)
EMERIUMU KOHSEN (BIH-GATA)
Similar to Type A, but in this case
he has one hand against his chest and the other as a fist by his side. (Source(s):
[HSW], p. 79).
Wide
Shot
WAIDO SHOTTO
A laser emitted from his vertical
right arm, with elbow resting on his left hand... the arms are posed in an
L-shaped configuration. The stream is considerably wider than that of
Ultraman's Specium Ray. The Wide Shot can branch into three different
streams. The beam was originally white and grainy, but over the course of
several years and many series, its color and appearance have varied.
Almost every subesequent Ultra has the ability to fire a similar L-shaped
ray. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79).
Eye
Slugger
AI SURAGGAH
Ultraseven's unique boomerang-like
weapon. It normally rests on his head as a typical Ultra fin, but he can
throw it and control it at will telekinetically. It typically glows white
and chops through enemies multiple times horizontally (spinning through
multiple loops), or splits them neatly in half vertically. Seven can hold
it like a hand knife. Seven can also hold it in mid-air telekinetically so
that he can knock it into his enemy with a burst of energy that he fires
from his hands. Monster Bandon (Pandon) is able to steal the Eye Slugger
from a weakened Seven in the final episode, but Seven can still maintain
control over it once it is thrown. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79).
Knuckle
Beam / Bolt Beam / Shake Hand Ray
NAKKURU BIHMU / BORUTO BIHMU / SHEIKU HANDO KOHSEN
Zig-zaggy thing he shoots from his
hands. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79).
Wedge
Ray
UEDJI KOHSEN
Beam knife he fires from his hand.
There are many variations on this. Seven has thrown knife-like beam
cutters at Godora-seijin (pictured here), and fire blasts of energy from
the palm of his hand at the Guts spaceship. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79; [UDS], p. 13).
Ultra
Spiral Beam
URUTORA SUPAIRARU BIHMU
In episode 12, he fires a spiral
attack beam from his arm that erases a UFO's barrier. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79).
Ultra
Barrier
URUTORA BARRIAH
Able to repel enemy attack.
(Source(s): [HSW], p. 79; [WP4], p. 43).)

Capsule
Monsters
KAPUSERU KAIJUH
When unable to transform into
Ultraseven, Dan
Moroboshi has a cache of Capsule Monsters that he can have fight for
him instead. They include Mikuras, Windam, and Agira. See more about Capsule
Monsters. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79).
Ultra
Will Power
URUTORA NENRIKI
When unable to transform into
Ultraseven during his stint as the captain of MAC in the 'Ultraman
Leo' series, Dan
Moroboshi uses his mental powers to incapacitate monsters, causing
them to fall over repeatedly in confusion. However, it is a severe drain
on Dan's energy, and he often collapses from the effort. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 79; [KB35], pp. 42-43).

Ultraman Jack's Weapons
Ultraman
Jack (a.k.a. New Ultraman) has many weapons similar to those of the original Ultraman's,
although some new ones are far more powerful. When Earth is threatened from
space in the second half of his series, Ultraman Jack receives the all-powerful
Ultra Bracelet from Ultraseven,
and it quickly takes over has his signature weapon.
Ultra
Bracelet
URUTORA BURESURETTO
Ultraman Jack's signature weapon.
Normally worn on his left wrist, it is inconcievably powerful and can
transform into numerous kinds of devices, which he can control
telekinetically. It can become a beam boomerang like Ultraseven's Eye
Slugger, or it can transform into solid cutters, lances, crosses,
shields, etc. It can immobilize monsters and make vaporize water. It has
healing powers, and resurrects Jack after his body is frozen and
dismembered by Showgon in episode
40. It can even gather surrounding energy to destroy entire planets
(planet Varduck is annihilated in episode
39). Introduced in epsiode
18 by Ultraseven, when Jack is unable to defeat monster Bemustar. The
various forms of the Bracelet are listed below. (Source(s): [UDH], p. 149; [HSW], pp. 82-83; [WP4], p. 45; [RROU], pp. 98-107).
Specium
Ray
SUPESHIUMU KOHSEN
Identical to Ultraman's Specium
Ray, and Jack's signature weapon for the first half of his series. A white
laser emitted from his right hand, as you can see, with hands crossed in a
plus sign (occasionally comes out blue). A direct hit causes the monster
to explode four times, although there seem to be many monsters who are
impervious to it. (Source(s): [UDH], p. 148; [HSW], pp. 84-85; [WP4], p. 44; [DZS2], p. 8; [KB35], p.
20).
"Ultra
Slash"
URUTORA SURASSHU or YATSUZAKI KOHRIN
The spinning circular sawblade of
light that dices up enemies or splits them cleanly in half. Specium
transformed into a ring. Identical to Ultraman's Ultra Slash. (Source(s):
[UDH], pp. 148-9; [HSW], pp. 84-85; [WP4], p. 44).
Cinerama
Shot
SHINERAMA SHOTTO
More powerful than even
Ultraseven's Wide Shot. However, ineffective against the barrier of King
Saurus III in episode
4. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 86; [WP4], p. 44).
Fog
Beam
FOGGU BIHMU
Used against King Saurus III in
episode
4, but ineffective against the monster's barrier (Source(s):
[WP4], p. 44).
Shooting
Star Kick
RYUHSEI KIKKU
In order to defeat King Saurus III,
Jack turns back into Goh and trains in his human form to perfect this
attack. He uses it to leap over the monster's barrier and kick off its
horns. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 8).
Of course, Jack has other kicks,
including the Spin Kick.
Ultra
Barrier
URUTORA BARIAH
A massive beam barrier that is
powerful enough to repel a tidal wave. Saps most of Jack's energy.
Probably holds the record for most elaborate setup moves. Sorry to say
this site design doesn't accomodate images of all of the steps, but it
involves a lot of spinning, lights, and grunting noises. (Source(s): [HSW], pp. 88-89; [KB35], pp. 16-17).
Ultra
Frost
URUTORA FUROSUTO
Can completely freeze an enemy. A
variation on Ultraman's Ultra
Water Stream. The mist is also helpful against monster PrizMA's
light attacks in episode
35. (Source(s): [UDH], p. 148; [HSW], p. 87; [DZS2], p. 8).
Eye
beam (name TBD)
TBD
A laser used against
Meshie-seiunjin in episode
45. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 8).

URUTORA SUPAHKU (FURASSHU)
A form of the
Ultra Bracelet. Can immobilize monsters. Extends to form the Ultra Lance.
Ultra
Spark (Cutter)
URUTORA SUPAHKU (KATTAH)
A beam boomerang
form of the Ultra Bracelet. Similar to the beam form of Ultraseven's Eye
Slugger. When Zelan-seijin takes over the Bracelet in episode
31, he sends a blizzard of these flying at Jack. (Source(s): [DZS2],
p. 9; [KB35], pp. 18-19).
Ultra
Spark (Cutter - solid form)
URUTORA SUPAHKU (KATTAH)
Rebuffed by Black
King in episode
37. (Source(s): [KB35], p. 20).
Ultra
Lance
URUTORA RANSU
An extension of
the Ultra Spark. Used to skewer Yadokarin in episode
29. Also used in episode
23 to poke lethal holes in the stomach of Vacuumon, the largest
monster in the universe. (Source(s): [DZS2], p. 9).
Ultra
Cross
URUTORA KUROSU
A form of the
Ultra Bracelet that is useful for killing Dracula-like creatures, such as
Draculas in episode
36 and Bat-seijn in episode
51. (Source(s): [UDH], p. 149; [WP4], p. 44; [DZS2], p. 9).
Ultra
Defender
URUTORA DIFENDAH
A shield form of
the Ultra Bracelet. Used to deflect the freezing gas breath of Snowgon in episode
40. (Source(s): [UDH], p. 149; [WP4], p. 44; [DZS2], p. 9).
Ultraman Ace's Weapons
Ultraman Ace has an
excess of nifty laser weapons, which is one of the many reasons why he's one of
my favorites. This is not intended to be comprehensive, so please don't tell me
that I forgot blah blah blah from episode so-and-so.
Metallium
Ray
METARIUMU KOHSEN
Ultraman Ace's primary L-style
laser weapon. Pink, white, and light blue rays. (Source(s): [UDH], pp. 14 and 189; [HSW], pp. 91-2, and
96). Sometimes mixed with
yellow coloring. First turns upper body to the left and then snaps to
center before firing. This rtpe of pre-weapon body action, rarely seen
before in previous Ultra series, is most likely to keep up with up and
coming rival action franchise KAMEN Rider. (Source(s): [WP4], p. 47).
Punch
Laser
PANCHI REHZAH
Powerful laser emitted from Ace's
Ultra Star (the beam lamp on his fin). Crosses index and middle fingers of
both hands on top of fin. As strong as, if not more powerful than,
Ultraseven's similarly fired Emerium
Ray (A Type). (Source(s): [UDH], pp. 14 and 189; [DZS2], p. 37; [HSW], pp. 92-3 and 96, [WP4], p.
47).
Space
Q
SUPEHSU Q
A powerful burst of energy created
by gathering the energy of the Color Timers from Zoffy, Ultraman, and the
Beam Lamp of Ultraseven. The energy is combined in the hole in the sides
of Ace's fin with his own energy, and tossed as a ball. Can only be used
once per session. Used to blow up Ace Killer in episode 14. (Source(s):
[WP4], p. 47; [HSW] p. 173).
Timer
Shot
TAIMAH SHOTTO
Rainbow-colored laser emitted from
Color Timer with arms stretched out to the side. Used to blow up Sphynx in
episode 25. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37; [WP4], p. 47; [HSW], pp. 92-3 and 96).
Energy
KOHKYUH (Light-Ball)
ENERUGIH KOHDAN
A red energy ball generated between
ace's two hands. Used against Zaigon in episode 10. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37; [HSW] p. 96).
Star
Ray
SUTAH KOHSEN
Star-shaped cutters fired from
between both hands. Used against Mach'ress in episode 37. There's also a
one-handed throw variation. (Source(s):
[WP4], p. 47; [HSW] p. 96).
Stop
Flash
SUTOPPU FURASSHU
Sparks both hands in front of chest
and immobilizes enemies telekinetically. Used against Unitang in episode
11. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37; [HSW] p. 96).
Ace
Spark
EHSU SUPAHKU
Wedge-shaped cutter beam.
(Source(s): [HSW], p. 96).. The image used
here may actually be of the Arrow Ray or the Moon Ray also listed in [HSW],
p. 96, but I can't tell the difference and I imagine they all look about
the same anyway.
Double
Beam
DABURU BIHMU
Right arm up and left arm forward,
Ace fires lasers from both hands that he focuses on one point. Used to
burn off Sabotendar's tongue in episode 12. (Source(s): [HSW], pp. 94-96).
Flash
Hand
FURASSHU HANDO
Envelops both hands in blazing hot
energy and uses them to give monsters the old chop chop. Used to weaken
Red Jack in episode 30. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37; [HSW], p. 96).

Ultra
Guillotine
URUTORA GIROCHIN
Slices through monsters like a hot
knife through butter (or margarine, if you will).
I consider this to be one of Ace's
most distinguishing weapons because there are so many variations. And
because of its cool but gory name, which is quite fitting for one of the
more gratuitously violent Ultra series.
I have no idea which one is
considered the plain and simple Ultra Guillotine, because my sources don't
do such a great job of distinguishing between each kind (or maybe because
I've got way better things to do than to sort it all out). Variations
(some of which are documented below) include the Vertical Guillotine,
Horizontal Guillotine, Circular Guillotine, Multi Guillotine (used against
Brocken in episode 6), and the Guillotine Shot. There, got that? (Source(s): [DZS2], p. 37; [WP4], p. 47; [HSW], p. 97).
Vertical
Guillotine
BAHCHIKARU GIROCHIN
Large, upright version of the
guillotine that cuts enemies cleanly in half. Used against Metron-seijin
Jr. in episode 8, Kiing Kappah in episode 19, and Fubugirara in episode
43. (Source(s): [HSW], p. 97).
Guillotine
Shot
GIROCHIN SHOTTO
The ultimate form of the
guillotine. Condenses energy into a ring and throws it at an energy. Used
to lop off Jumbo King's head in episode 52. Also known as the Space
Guillotine. (Source(s):
[WP4], p. 47; [HSW], p. 97; [KB35], pp. 32-3).
I don't know how this is possible, but I think I read somewhere that this
is also infused with the energy of the Space Q, one of Ace's other
weapons.
Ace
Barrier
EHSU BARRIAH
A glorified holding pen used to
trap an enemy in a sphere-shaped alternate dimension. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37; [HSW], p. 97).
Used in episodes 7 and 8, when Ace could not handle fighting three enemies
at once. In one of the few instances where there is a separation of powers
between the two human hosts, this defensive weapon primarily drains Minami's
energy and nearly kills her.
Ultra
Neo Barrier
URUTORA NEO BARRIAH
The coolest Ultra barrier ever.
Generated by manually tracing out a rectangular wall of energy. And isn't
it such a great battle scene, with my favorite Ace monster Bakishimu in
profile and Mt. Fuji in the background? It just doesn't get any better
than this. Episode 3. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37; [WP4], p. 47; [HSW], p. 97).
Circle
Barrier
SAHKURU BARIAH
I take it back... THIS is the
coolest Ultra barrier ever. (Source(s): [UDH], p. 15; [HSW], pp. 95 and 97).
Used against Black Satan in episode 22.
Ace
Vacuum
EHSU BAKYUHMU
Absorbs poison gases and other
enemy attacks. Used against Garan in episode 3. (Source(s): [DZS2], p. 37; [HSW], p. 97).
Ultra
Shower
URUTORA SHAWAH
A fog used to dissolve enemies.
Used against Unitang in episode 11. (Source(s): [DZS2], p. 37; [HSW], p. 97).
The
hand flame thingy dingy (real name unkown)
Red flame emitted from hands when
Ace clasps them together in front of him. Used against Sphynx in episode
25. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37).
Ace
Blade
EHSU BUREHDO
A sword generated by sheer force of
will when Ace raises his hand and gives it a flash. Used to slice of
Sphynx's head in episode 25. (Source(s):
[DZS2], p. 37). I really hate
this weapon because I think it's unrealistic for Ultras to be able to
generate solid weapons out of thin air. What, NOTHING in the Ultra series
is realistic, you say? Well yes, there is that. But still...
The
silly cape whatsits (real name unkown)
A flag that Ace borrows from a
nearby building and increases in size to use as a bullfighting cape to
trifle with monster Zaigon in episode 10. (Source(s): [DZS2], p. 37).
One of those rare, crazy "found object" weapons in Ultra lore.
