Grainger Valve to "Trick" Your MAP Sensor
A Grainger Valve is just a nick-name fro a simple ball & spring check valve with adjustable spring tension. McMaster-Carr sells them as part # 48935k25. This valve is adjustable and you will get to see if you like the quick spool up.
The valve you get will look like this...

Change the order of the parts around so...

Step 2 is complete. Now screw ona brass barb fitting (McMaster-Carr 5346k51. The 90degree one shown is 44555k142.) Drill a small (.020" or so) hole into the barb...

Now, use a persuader, or a hammer for you lamens, and bang the barb into the hole of the first piece, like so...
The finished valve will be adjustable to fair degree. It should be adjustable to very nearly 14psi (for your factory cutout.) This way you'll get maximum boost capable of your vehicle, for the maximum time you want it. I must caution you that 14 psi is the limit set by the factory because the computer CANNOT SUPPLY ENOUGH FUEL TO RUN THE ENGINE AFTER 14PSI!! Leaning out and "swiss cheesing" of your various enigne components will DEFINATELY happen with prolonged lean driving. |
