| The Future... | ||||
| So what's in the future for MTCKE? We are currently in the process of archiving our movies on DVD. We are still doing post production on several older movies including Demon and Ventures. Then there is the Double-0 Agents Special Edition DVD in production, which will include new footage, FX, as well as behind the scenes documentaries and commentary. Other than that, there are no movies planned for the future. Most of MTCKE have moved on with their lives, and interest in movie making has waned. With Matt at college and Thomas shipping out with the Navy spring 07, there is a chance that the days of MTCKE may well be behind us. All the same, Chris has never lost interest in filmmaking, and plans to continue making films as long as he can. PROJECTS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN: MTCKE was also working on its biggest project yet: LOTR: The Parody. Written by over twenty people on IMDb.com, this epic parody had a massive cast list and was being produced in conjunction with the writers. Due to budget and cast issues, this project is no longer in production (for the time being). We meant to re-shoot our short movie Gone Fishin' in the summer of '05, but time, weather, and fate seemed to conspire against us. Matt wrote the first draft for a mystery / horror / supernatural thriller called Full Moon, which never got past the re-write. Matt and Thomas were also at one point toying with the concept of an off-beat road trip movie tentatively called The True Life Adventures of Matt and Thomas. Other planned projects included A Day of Perfect Sorrow, the first completed script in The Tribulation of the Children series, Flashbacks, a decade-spanning tale to be filmed in part years later (never written), and Ends and Means, a Star Wars fan film. We were also toying around with a script for Um and Capewoman Meet MattMan and Totomahawkin, a tribute to our early superhero movies. Chris still plans to make The Tribulation of the Children, as well as an experiemental film called Look, Said He, We Are No More. He also hopes to someday re-write and update the Double-0 Agents stories into screenplays independent of their James Bond origins. He would still like to do the Star Wars fan film, but the budget and time this film would require would be outrageous, and would be an even more difficult task than The Parody. All the same, he may still adapt the story treatment into a full screenplay, or maybe just a short story. |
