A Soldier Like You
He marched through
the valley in a far away land.
To fight for the freedom that his daddy died
for.
All covered in blood as his eyes filled with fear ,
Lying
beneath him was a soldier in despair.
So he lifted the Soldier
and carried him away
And as he laid him down this is what he
said.
I thank you my son for one last chance. I was leaving
tomorrow to be with my son. It’s been one year now since
I last held him, your daddy must be proud to have a Soldier like
you.
Alleluia We stand and we’re proud.
Alleluia Freedom will prevail.
Alleluia to the brave one’s we
hail.
Alleluia For the red, white, and blue .
Through the corner of his eyes he sees a child sitting
there,
He’s on the lap of a soldier as the tears rain down
It looks like the picture my momma gave to me
And as I pulled
it from my wallet, it fell to the ground
So he picked up the
picture and carried it to me
And as he stood and stared, this
is what he said…
I thank you Mr. Soldier for bringing
home my dad,
I’ve missed him so dearly it would have hurt
me so bad
And I’ll never forget you as he saluted and smiled
O
ur country
is lucky to have a soldier like you
Alleluia We stand and we’re
proud
Alleluia Freedom will prevail
Alleluia To the brave one’s
we hail
Alleluia For the red, white, and blue
Alleluia For the
red, white, and blue
