Jess had just found a buyer for his motorcycle......
   (pictured below)

Jess rode the bike down the street about 3/4 of a mile,
turned around and was coming back home when an 82
year old woman driving a Van turned in front of him
while she was turning into her driveway.

He was travelling the speed limit,  45 m.p.h. on River
road in Madison Ohio, a country road.

She said that she did not see him.  Later we were told
by a member of her family that the woman driving the
Van should have never ' passed ' her drivers test in the
first place as she is 'legally blind'.

Jess was in the ditch with head injuries, both wrists
broken , both legs ripped from the ankles, hip bone
broken in half.. etc. until rescue took him to Lake
   County East Hospital.

He lost most of his blood.  The hospital called me later
to tell me they did not have the facilities to care for
him and that he was being life flighted to Metro, a ten
   minute trip by helicopter.

It didn't take me more than 3 minutes to leave for the
hospital and on the way I kept looking out the window
to see the helicopter.   We didn't . .

We arrived maybe 15 minutes later at Metro and went
to the emegency room to find that he had not arrived
yet.  I went outside to watch for the helicopter and
   waited while timing the arrival.

I was outside for 16 more minutes before it arrived.

After much blood and surgury, he passed on at 5:30
a.m.   There were 28 friends and family  in the
   emergency room.

Jesse never used drugs, never drank, and never even smoked cigarettes.

As a child he raised chickens, a rabbit  (who ran free and stayed in the yard ), kittens, puppies, fish, Iguana lizards and an albino King Snake,  6' long that got loose in the house and was never seen again.

About Jess
I didn't want Jess to ride this kind of motorcycle.

By virtue of design,  they are deathtraps.

Should you need to get off the bike in a hurry, like if somebody were to turn in front of you,
it is not possible to get off of the motorcycle fast enough.

That
is
what
happened  !
