Title : Notorious T.O.P.
"Bringing Fragging Technology To Your World"
Filename : top.bsp
Author : Rick Barkhouse
Description : A recreation of The Object People office in Ottawa, Ontario.
Story : During the great ice storm of 1997, the employees of The
Object People are stranded in the office with no escape in
sight. After a few days cooped up at each other's throats,
the coffee machine has run dry, the TOPLink support calls
are piling up, and nerves are wearing thin...
Disclaimer : This map was meant more as an experiment in simulating
a real-world location than a playable level, but I've
added deathmatch support just for fun. r_speeds were
NOT a consideration, so it may be too detailed to be
playable in some situations. You have been warned...
Installation
------------
1) Unzip the pak0.pak file into a subdirectory of the baseq2 directory
(for example, C:\Quake2\baseq2\top)
*****************************************************************
* DO NOT UNZIP IN THE BASEQ2 DIRECTORY, THIS WILL OVERWRITE THE *
* STANDARD QUAKE 2 FILES! *
*****************************************************************
2) To start a deathmatch server, run the 'server.bat' file or use the
following command line:
quake2 +set dedicated 1 +set deathmatch 1 +set game top +map top
To explore the map by yourself, run the 'top.bat' file or use the
following command line:
quake2 +set game top +map top
3) Connect and start fragging.

Known Bugs:
-----------
* Some of the architecture is a little screwed up (water cooler, some
chairs), due to Qoole's erroneous .map exporting algorithms. If they
fix this in Qoole 3.0 I'll probably fix up this map.
* You can sometimes get a "hall of mirrors" effect when looking at the
supply room and janitor's closet from certain angles - such is the
fabulous Quake 2 engine.
Thanks to:
----------
* The following people for providing a base for some of the custom textures:
- Richard "Zen Killgrin" Kubris (solid color textures)
- David Hyde (wood and ceiling textures)
- Jim Nobles (wood texture)
- Neil White III (wall texture)
- Sonya Roberts (art texture)
* Stecki for the great environment map
* Simon Lord for compiling my level on his SGI machine (in 6 minutes!!)
* Angie, for putting up with the long nights of editing :)
* The Object People for their _endless_ suggestions and playtesting
(NO, I'm NOT putting fish in the fishtank!!!)
