I use Qoole as my primary map editor. I've only really finished one map, although I have about three that are half finished...

I highly recommend mapping out some real-world location that you are familiar with when getting started in mapping. It's hard enough learning all the editing tricks, let alone being creative at the same time.

While making Notorious T.O.P., I created about 50 new textures using Wally. If you do any texture editing for Quake, get this program. Here are some samples of the textures I have created:
![]() A generic floor tile |
![]() A Windows 95 desktop, for computer monitors |
![]() Duh... put red lights around it! |
|||
![]() The Qoole logo |
![]() A grade-school chalkboard |
![]() Mmmm, coffee... |

![]() Lovely green-striped upholstery |
![]() Dark green, "flowered" upholstery |
![]() A bulletin board |

Here's some prefabs I've made. They're all in Qoole's .QLE format, I'm too lazy to convert them all for you.

Here's two big tanks you can use to hold fuel at a pumping station, or toxic waste, or some other devious liquid. Qoole screwed up the lid on the hatch, you may want to remove it when you put it in your map. [Brushes: 35 each]

For REALLY lazy people, I present some office furniture: a desk, a bookcase, an all purpose table, and a water cooler (seen in screen shot #6 above). The desks are just the right height to hide under. These prefabs use some custom textures (included in the zip file). [Brushes: Desk - 6, Bookcase - 7, Table - 6, Water Cooler - 5]

A red glowing Hotel sign, perfect for, uh, hotels. And it's not backwards on the other side! I thought of everything. Even the custom neon texture included in the zip file. [Brushes: 25]
