JUNGLA COMICS IN TURKEY
Jungla (a female jungle-girl comics, with a sado-erotic leaning, created in Italy by Stelio Fenzo in 1968 which lasted till 1971 with 58 issues) was first published in Turkey in 1973 by Canan Paker as a weekly comics, subtitled as "Dii Tarzan" (Female Tarzan) and billed as 'for adults', probably the first comics magazine in Turkey promoted as such. Its editor was Mehmet K. Benli, the publisher of horror comics Korku. Later reprints of Jungla were published by Mustafa Ergn, but Benli was still credited as editor.
In January 2005,
Hozcomics published a single issue of Renkli Jungla, a colorized edition prepared by Turkish artist Fatih Okta who has disclosed that he is working (as of summer 2005) on a special Jungla album, featuring colorized versions of some old stories as well as one new one by himself, to be published in Italy.
