RESEARCH DONE
Searches - I have employed one Essex Fam. Hist. Society expert, [ Jack Baxter] to look for Henry Harridance's marriage. He believes that Henry Harridance was married due to one son having the same name.
Boyds for Essex 1801-1-37 and in the Index to Essex License bonds and Allegations give no one with this name or variant spellings. Probably need to look further afield? and more alternate churches or civil marriage at registry office? too early for the latter. One brother James Harridance married in the latter - very unusual for the times!
Also searches for a death of a Mrs. Harridance in the Messing / Braintree area from 1828 onward found nothing BUT that was only in the Anglican records.! 2007Searched for signs of Henry Harridance marriage of spouse- Jan 2007
in the records of Baptisms and burials of this Maldon Independent Chapel which includes no marriages.
The records only spanned Births & Christenings. 1776-1837, Burials. 1809-1837.
Also began a search in the Manningtree Independent Church. Births & C. 1824-1837, Burials 1823-1835. no Harridance names at all or anything close.I could find no record of a burial of a Mrs Harridance who may have died anywhere and anytime between abt 1827 and 1841 census date - in the Maldon Chapel and the Manningtree records .
Also available to me are Manningtree Wesleyan Church. Births & C. 1795-1837, B.urials 1823-1837.no mention of birth of HH Jr.c 1828..

As we cannot locate a marriage of Henry Harridance 1794-1859 born and died Maldon town, corn merchant, alderman Maldon, property owner, etc or the birth of his son Henry Harridance the younger born c 1827 Braintree area we need to look in more of the nonconformist archives in a wider area... I think? yes.
Do you know where these records are please c 1824-27 ? Independent Chapels near Braintree?
Between 1754 (Lord Hardwicke's Act) and 1837 the only nonconformist marriages that were legally recognised were those of Jews and Quakers.
From 1 July 1837 marriages could take place in nonconformist venues in the presence of a registrar.
