son  of Henry James Richmond and his wife Mary Jane Tonkin
born 7  October 1896 baptised 20 Jan 1897 at Port Fairy, Vic. St John's Anglican church. Birth not registered in the Indexes of PRO Vic.Until they were given a copy of this documentation.

He went to Tasmania, Devonport at and early age c 1903 with his parents and sister and brothers except William who would have stayed on at the Colac Reformer.

Dressing up?
At the age of 14 left school and went to work for the AMP Insurance  Co. in Hobart.

His first marriage was 29 July 1925 to Pauline Theresa O'Neill, who was born at Mathinna [North East ] Tasmania, in  St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church St Kilda, Melbourne.
They had a child in  March 1929 name known - living, thus withheld.
There was a divorce finalized 20 October 1932 .Vic. State records unavailable 2002.

His second marriage took place in Melbourne on 17 Feb.1940 , to Hilda Robinson,  and they had 2 girls-  living. The birth certificate of  of the first child of this marriage has an entry for the child of previous marriage listed and aged 11 years!

His hobbies were choral singing, gardening and music. He worked for the AMP Insurance Co all his life.
Travelled to New Zealand and perhaps the Pacific Islands?  for a holiday sometime during the in the 1930s.

In 1967 in his garden.
Died 15 Jan 1975 in Melbourne of a heart attack. Buried Caulfield Cemetery . His sister Coila Steer has a memorial in Springvale Rose Garden, F1 bed 16, tree 33A.
