Opportunities for Growth and Service
In Our Local Church
- Church School
- Classes are offered for all ages on Sundays at 9:00AM.
- Junior Youth Program
- Known as "Kids for Christ," or "KFC," and offers fellowship for elementary aged children through the fifth grade.
- Youth Group
- Meets during the school year in conjunction with the youth of the United Methodist Church.
- Vacation Bible School
- VBS is provided each summer in cooperation with the United Methodist Church and is staffed by adult and youth volunteers from both congregations.
- Summer Church Camps
- Offered by both the Northwest Area of the Christian Church and the Heartland Presbytery, providing enriching experiences for children and youth of all ages.
- Morning Study Group
- We meet during the spring and fall to read and discuss books and topics of relevance and importance to the Christian life.
- The Chancel Choir and Handbell Choir
- Provide inspiring leadership in worship.
- Men's Fellowship
- Meets at 6:30PM the third Thursday of each month for dinner and fellowship. (September through May)
- Women's Ministries
- Meets at 10:30AM the second Wednesday of each month and is composed of members of the three circles which meet monthly in members' homes:
- Esther Circle
- Second Monday, 10:00AM at Shirkey Leisure Acres
- Priscilla Circle
- First Tuesday, 1:30PM.
- Rachel Circle
- First Wednesday, 9:30AM.
- Fellowship Dinners
- Held frequently, providing members and friends with opportunities to enjoy each others' company in a social setting.
- Worship Services
- Please come worship with us on Sundays at 10:00AM in our beautiful sanctuary providing an uplifting experience.
In addition to our regular Sunday services, other services throughout the year bring us together at Ash Wednesday, Lent, Maundy Thursday, Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas Eve.
In Our Community
- Shirkey Leisure Acres
- Our pastor and members take turns with other churches in providing Sunday afternoon worship services for the residents.
- Salvation Army
- Members of UCPC donate regularly to the needs of the local Salvation Army. There is an attractive cabinet in our foyer where contributions may be left.
- Highway Cleanup
- Our members participate in the Missouri Highway Department volunteer program by picking up trash along Highway 13.
- Relay For Life
- Many of our members take part in the annual "Relay For Life" sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
- Community Worship Services
- We are committed to the support of numerous community worship services, planned and ledby the Richmond, Missouri Ministerial Alliance.
