About Our History
The United Christian Presbyterian Church was formed in 2003, with the merger of the former First Christian Church and First Presbyterian Church.
As a united church, our congregation stands in the historic traditions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Presbyterian Church (USA). Our pastor holds standing in both denominations, and our members participate fully in in the life of both of these great communions.
About Our Denominations
For more information on the denominations to which we belong, please see the Christian (Disciples of Christ) and Presbyterian (USA) web sites.
About Our Facilities
Our present building, completed in 2005, includes a beautiful sanctuary, church school classrooms, kitchen, and family life center for the use of the congregation and the community. These facilities are completely handicapped accessible and include showers for overnight guests. Our building is available for weddings, receptions, dinners, and civic functions. Arrangements may be made by calling the church office.
Through the generous gifts of members and friends, the sanctuary's stained glass windows were moved from the old Christian Church where they had been installed in the late 1800's.
