| Alan Bean was selected as an astronaut in NASA's third class (1963). During his career, Bean made two flights into space. His first assignment was to the second moon landing mission, Apollo 12. In November of 1969, Alan Bean became the fourth man to walk on the moon. His second mission would come four years later when he was given the command of the second American space station mission, Skylab 3. During this mission Bean and his crew set a space flight endurance record. During his two missions, Alan Bean logged 69 days in space. He retired from the astronaut corps in 1981. My Collection: This is an autographed post card photo of Bean in his Apollo 12 space suit. |
