A Lot of White Water
|

Previous Page Next PageAs we plunged into the churning white water (the first of the double rapid), things quickly changed. The water came bursting over the bow and poured into the raft. I got jostled off my perch on the side of the raft and slid in towards the middle. Unfortunately, the same jarring movement of the raft as it hit the bottom of the "hole" began to send Carol backward, losing her balance, and gently floated her out of the raft and into the river, as we seemed to "pause" in the white water hole. (Mind you, the only thing that kept us in this raft in the first place was a "toe-hold" of one foot jammed under the rubber side of the boat - no seat belts!) Things are beginning to deteriorate.
