Entering Bull Sluice

This first picture shows our raft entering the first drop of "Bull Sluice." Everything seems okay at this point, but the guide will tell us later that we actually entered the rapid at an undesirable angle. Our guide had pointed out to us prior to challenging "Bull Sluice" that the river was very high, causing the water to be extremely swift and that much more difficult in which to manuever our raft.

I am positioned in the front (on the left) and that's Carol sitting up on the side of the raft (center of photo). As you can see, we are going into the "hole" at a steep angle, but at this point, nothing feels seriously wrong.
