The Ice Storm

Crosstown traffic, Colorado style
It was raining when I left work, and by the time I was at Independent Records trading away my vinyl for a mess of pottage, the girl at the counter thought it looked like some snow was mixed in with it.

"It was too warm today for this," she said with a sigh. "Sometimes I hate Colorado."

"I think that's more freezing rain than snow," I said, and sure enough, it was icing up in sheets on my car windows on the side the rain was blowing in from.

By the time I was home it had turned into a steady snowfall and hours later it still hasn't let up.
