| We were born via emergency C-section 11 weeks premature. Mallory weighed 2lbs 4ozs and Zoey weighed 1lb 13ozs. Mallory needed two blood transfusions and both girls were very jaundiced. We were both immediately put on a ventilator to help us breath, but thankfully taken off a few days later. We were then put on the Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine (CPAP). Mallory was fortunate to only need the CPAP for a short time, but Zoey remained on it for about 2 1/2 months. Mallory spent a total of 54 days and Zoey spent 85 days in the NICU at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Grandma Richardson and Aunt Hona came to visit us along with friends from Lighthouse Baptist church. We were cared for by wonderful nurses - Karen, Brandie and Ann among others. It has been a long road, but we are getting stronger everyday. Our family is so thankful for all the prayers and support you offered us.
