Characters:
JH and XJ agreed to spend an entire day together as a couple and break-up the next day. JH and XJ enjoy their time as a couple. While they are playing kite, XJ tells JH that she is hungry so they go to eat fried rice. In the evening, they both are sitting besides the lake
JH: I've never thought that the lake can be this beautiful at night
XJ: you often come?
JH: when I was small, my mom often took me here to have a walk. Soon after my mom died, my relationship with my dad became worse. So this lake becomes my haven. Then I realized, Bai Yin river has magic power.
XJ: magic power?
JH: No matter you are angry, depressed, or hurt, you just need to come to this lake and it will take away all your sufferings, help you to start a new beginning with the least suffering and bring out your courage.
XJ: that's because there is a spirit living in the lake.
JH: spirit?
XJ: the lake's spirit created a golden ring [rough translation]
JH: So, a couple of gods/spirits who is deeply in love choose a ring as a symbol of their pure and everlasting love. I had always hoping that the lake would answer my question: how I can find the person that I've always been waiting for. I never thought that it really answered my question.
XJ: yes...it is the one who brought me to you.
JH: So XJ, you should also tell the lake your dreams/hopes.
XJ: actually.....I told them already. Don't you remember?
Meanwhile, Ke Ting asks Zhi Kai to take her to place where he usually goes when he is sad. Zhe Kai take Ke Ting to a game centre and they are having fun there.
JH and XJ spend the night beside the lake. They wake up in the morning feeling sad because it's the time for them to break-up. JH tries to say something but XJ asks him not to say anything because it's not necessary anymore.
XJ: in the past, I took that train because I was trying to find this lake. Now, I really find the lake and yet I have to leave them....the time I have to leave your house..[they cry, hug, and kiss...-_-]
JH is in his dad's office. He tells his dad that he wants to move back to live with Ma Ke since he will be busy with his works. His dad is unhappy and tells JH that he can't just decide to move in and then move out whenever he wants to without respecting him. JH says he won't change his decision to move out. His dad then says "Ok then...after all, this is not the first time [for JH telling his dad he wants to move out]. At that time, I didn't prevent you to leave the house...this time I won't prevent you too!!" ...JH asks his dad to takecare of himself and then he leaves.
Rong Sao asks XJ to tell JH not to leave the house since JH will only listen to XJ.
XJ goes to talk with JH telling him that it is her that should leave the house not JH. JH scolds her and reminds her to leave the house after she gives birth. He also asks XJ to act seriously as Yu Qing. Niu Niu is in the stairs crying and telling JH "How could you do this? you take me to your house, but in the end, it's yourself who leaves/runs away from the house" JH tries to cheer her up. JH asks XJ "Sister-in-law, please takecare of my dad and....yourself." Then JH leaves.
XJ goes to talk with JH's dad. JH's dad says sorry to XJ for not being able to fix his relationship with JH. XJ tells JH's dad that it's her who makes the situation worsen. But then JH's dad says she is not...and she is the nicest daughter-in-law. JH's dad tells XJ that from now on, only both of them will leave in the family.
Niu Niu calls Ma Ke and asks where JH is and why he hasn't come to visit at all.
Meanwhile, XJ and Niu Niu accompany JH's dad to take a walk. Niu Niu's toy is broken and she says "it would be great if JH ge ge was here to fix my car." They JH's dad asks XJ whether or not she knows how JH has been lately. But XJ answers that she doesn't know.
JH bumps into Zhe Kai. They try to insult each other. Just before Zhi Kai leaves, he tells JH "by looking at your depressed [rough translation] face, there is only one thing I want to tell you....Please be careful in the road." ...Then JH replies "I also want to tell you one thing....You must treat Ke Ting nicely...and I haven't pay you back you hitting me that day." Zhe Kai says "between me and Ke Ting, it's none of your business." ....JH says "Ke Ting's problem is also my problem [rough translation]"
Back to XJ, Niu Niu and JH's dad taking a walk. Niu Niu suddenly asks JH's dad, why JH and him always have a fight. then JH's dad says "When JH and JY were small, I was very strict with them and I don't like to see them cry, because a man shouldn't use feeling/heart to deal with problems". He further explains that when JH's mom passed away, JH kept crying and saying that it was his dad that caused his mom to die because once JH's mom told JH that she was lonely and missed JH's dad very much...and it was her loneliness that killed her. JH's dad says he tried to stop JH from crying but every time he tried to do so, JH cried even louder and then he slapped JH very hard, and since then, their relationship became worse until now.
Zhe Kai and Ke Ting are on a date. Ke Ting asks "Why do you take me to an electronic store on our date?" Zhe Kai answers "I'm planning to buy a house...and I'm expecting someone to help me to choose the housewares/furniture". Ma Ke calls Ke Ting and tells her about how JH has been acting weird and feeling bad lately. Ke Ting tells Zhe Kai and he asks her "Does he feel bad because of you?". Ke Ting says "of course not...you know he already has someone else that he likes."
JH comes home to Ma Ke's apartment and sees A-mei and Ma Ke are having dinner together. Just as JH joins them, Ke Ting comes. JH looks uncomfortable but trying to be nice to her. JH asks Ma Ke to come out and asks Ma Ke why he invites Ke Ting. Ma Ke says that he is trying to help JH to get over with his heartbroken and he says why don't JH gets back together with Ke Ting. JH gets angry and hit Ma Ke in the face and then he runs away....Ke Ting chases her.
JH: Sorry...what happened earlier was not because of you.
KT: can you believe that you behave like that, when I first came, I already knew...JH that I know, is the person who can do all of those. Of course, inside my heart I was thinking that I still have the chance [to get back together with JH], but I can't...right?...Ma Ke told me that you have been very depressed lately. Looking you like this, I also feel sad.
JH: don't say it anymore.
KT: I have to say it. I used all my courage to be able to break up with you. Therefore, I beg you...you must get your own happiness. Otherwise, I would regret/consent [rough translation].
JH is back to Ma Ke's house. A-mei is helping Ma Ke to put bandage on him and JH is staring on Ma Ke. Ma Ke says "Don't look at me like that...no matter what you did to me..I will always on your side"
JH keeps thinking about XJ and he decides to calls her. XJ, who is in JH's dad's office staring at JH's picture, tells JH not to call her again and tells him to hold on to his promise and she hangs up the phone.
JH bumps into XJ in the bus unexpectedly. The situation become awkward. JH asks XJ "is it almost the time to give birth?" and asks her where she wants to go. She says she wants to go to the hospital. JH asks "Why didn't you ask A-di to drive you?" ...then JH asks her "how are you doing?" XJ replies "I'm doing good. I've learned to be strong/brave.
At hospital, XJ is having a pregnancy exercise by herself while everyone else is accompanied by their husbands. But suddenly, JH appears. XJ says "What are you doing here? I don't want to see you here." ...JH replies "I can't help to see you alone here"
JH and XJ meet Ke Ting in the hospital hallway and Ke Ting tells JH that she has something to talk with him. XJ tells them she will go home first.
Ke Ting invites JH to her dad's birthday party. Apparently, JH's dad and Ke Ting's dad both still don't know that JH and Ke Ting broke up already. JH thinks it's the time to tell them the truth. But Ke Ting says they should wait until the joint real estate project between JH's dad and Ke Ting's dad has been finalized, so at that time, maybe it's will be easier for JH's dad to accept the fact that JH and Ke Ting are not together again, and also it will be more likely that JH's dad accepts JH-XJ's relationship. JH says "I already hurt you..and to cover up my relationship with XJ, you are still pretending that we are still together in front of our dad. I have no face to look at you because of what I have done...Why do you still very nice to me until now? ..." Zhe Kai is staring at JH and Ke Ting from distance.
Because of his jealousy, Zhe Kai tells Ke Ting's dad that JH and Ke Ting are actually not together anymore and that Ke Ting's dad should cancel the project [rough translation^^].
JH's dad and XJ come to Ke Ting's dad bday party.
JH's dad: Ke Ting, why JH is not here yet?
KT: he still has something to do.
JH's dad talking to Ke Ting's dad: don't take it personally.
Ke Ting's dad: I'm used to your good son behaviour. He never really respect anyone afterall [and he asks Zhe Kai to sit next to Ke Ting]
JH's dad and XJ both look shocked. The situation even become more tensed when XJ's baby dad, Jason, comes as one of the guest. XJ runs outside before he sees her.
The bday dinner has started. Jason tells JH's dad that it seems that he recognizes his daughther-in-law. JH's dad tell him that XJ [as Yu Qing] graduated from USA. Then Jason tells JH's dad that he recognized the wrong person. Then, JH's dad wants to make a toast, and says about how excited he is waiting for the day Ke Ting get married with JH and enters Du family, etc. Ke Ting's dad gets angry. JH's dad is shocked when Ke Ting's dad mentions that JH and Ke Ting are not together anymore.
JH's dad calls JH to come home.
JH: dad, I guess you already knew that me and Ke Ting are not together anymore.
JH's dad slaps JH
JH: no matter what, it's the truth. I'm sorry!
JH's dad: WHY????
JH: because I love someone else!!
