Homemade XM Portable#2 - BestTimesNow
This is a low profile,  homemade portable unit that I made to use with my Sony XM tuner.  I used the parts from the my other portable for making this unit.  I used a 6V battery for a Play & Ride, kids riding vehicle. This battery will last over 6 hours on a charge, if the display back-light is turned off.
I used a Terk antenna.  I also used a headphone amplifier and attached it with Velcro tape.

I used an inline volume control,  attached to the headphone amplifier, for the headphones.
I left the battery connection outside the box for easy hook-up to the battery charger.
The enclosure was white, I painted it black.
Radio Shack sells this enclosure, but by mail order only (now back in stock).

Click this line for the Radio Shack link for the enclosure.

It is a PAC TEC Enclosure Model CM86-175, size 8.1 x  6.2 x 2.1

Most of the other parts, that I used, are listed at my first portable, at the link below.
