| This is a homemade portable unit that I made to use with my Sony XM tuner. I used a 6V battery for a Play & Ride, kids riding vehicle. This battery will last over 6 hours on a charge, if the display back-light is turned off. I plan to listen to XM during my daughters soccer practice which is 1 1/2 hours, twice a week. A portable XM could also be used to listen to CNBC on the commuter train, if you lived in a big city. |

| I used a Terk antenna and mounted it on a universal mounting bracket, so that it could pivot. I also used a headphone amplifier and attached it with Velcro tape. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| A 5mm cap screw, wing nut & lock washer allows the antenna to pivot. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| I used an inline volume control, attached to the headphone amplifier, for the headphones. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| I left the battery connection outside the box, for easy hook-up to the battery charger. | ||||||||||||||||||||
