NLP Presuppositions

language in the brain. Language makes it possible to create a new behavior. NLP shows us how to “reprogram“ourselves. It makes us aware of our behavior patterns that are unconsciously applied. We can change our pattern with the help of special strategies and techniques. This happens on the basis of the assumptions as shown in the mind map.

On the right-hand side general assumptions are given. You have resources at your disposal and you must be aware that everybody realizes life in a different way ( “Map is not the territory”.).Thus you can make the choice of how to behave in the world.

On the left-hand side words are defined in a different that shows the NLP point of view.. Communication( “exchange of information”) is called “the response you get” (Anne Linden,1997 page 6) to emphasize the active part you can play in communication. Success is not only “ the achievement of something you have been trying to” but also an ability you can learn with the help of NLP. Failure and behavior are defined in a positive way to give you a different, confident view on your usefulness.

Language is the important means that enables people to influence each other with the help of models, strategies and techniques to change behavior. As a teacher using NLP it is of special importance to use NLP tools with care and consideration to improve the learning abilities of weak students.
