What does your life depend on? Many people will confidently answer, "Air! Oxygen! Water!" Or some would even say that their lives depend on their money, their family, or success. Now what would they say if I asked, "what does eternal life depend on?" How would you respond? Would you respond with "air" or "water?" Absolutely not!
I want to tell you that there is only One that our present and eternal lives depend on. His Name is Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God! In 1 John 5:12, God makes it clear that only through Jesus do we have eternal life: "He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son does not hav life." Can you honestly look at your own life and say that you are perfectly satisfied? Some of us can. Others of us cannot. But are you one of the people who can look forward to life after death and be confident in the eternal life Jesus has in store for us? I hope so, and I want to share with you how Jesus has not given me this life here on earth, but also an eternal life worth living for as well.
I started going to church at a very young age to the Assembly of God congregation in Los Angeles. I was about five years old when my family moved into a suburb home in the Hacienda Heights area. My parent's decided that they wanted to look for another local church . I was then invited to go to the First Chinese Baptist CHurch of San Gabriel Valley (FCBC-SGV) in the summer of 1986, and I was taught Bible stories and I sang songs during Vacation Bible School. Soon after, our family started coming to FCBC regularly.
It was through one of my teachers (Sunday School.)Mike Yuen, who told me that my life was special. My life was freely given by grace from God. Uncle Mike explained how God loves me so much that He had to send Jesus to the cross as a penalty for my sins. My sins would have led me to death and eternal separation from God. But praise God for the opportunity to be part of God's family forever I believed in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I wanted forgiveness of my sins, so I said yes to Jesus when I was only seven years old.
