Uefa Cups Year 07/08
additional to Bert's Uefa page
Hello all,

Still running:(25/5 23:00)
* 0 league
* 0 domestic cups

16-06-08: Due to the news that Porto will not be punished this year iby the Uefa, Porto is back in the CL. I repaired all Portuguese changes. The Bulgarian is still not confirmed - except that Bulgarian press reports itesm from our forum(-owner: Bert!) ;)
(Happy now Kaiser?)
05-06-08: Wow what a final days. Murata was the last champion, but the impact of CSKA and Porto out are far more important, I'm afraid. To make it more noticable I haven't blued out the new teams in CL/UC in the CL&UC sheet, though the most noticable thing is that Spartak Moscow is not seeded in CL-Q3. All that is now not decided is what will happen with the Portuguese Intertoto spot? Do they have a backup team, or will the spot go to Spain or England - making England come with 9 teams to Europe?? Let's wait a bit more
And prepare for Switzerland&Austria!!
03-06-08: I updated latest Intertoto teams and the Bulgarian news that CSKA Sofia did not obtain a license.
And I am wondering who will be entered as the San marino champion: to be decided today, though the names should have been known yesterday already. Iwonder if San Marino, Hungary and Bosnia have gotten an excemption for entering the last names, though I understood that one of the cupfinalists already got an Intertoto spot (ok he's 7-0 behind, but if one team can score 7 goals in a match, why not the other.....) ;)
01-06-08: And Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona has made it to the UC!, that is 1 UC spot less: 1 CL, 3 UC to go....
01-06-08: And Inter Baku and Morica are the next champions. Only the play-off final between Murata and Juvenes/Dogana is left to decied the last spot in CL. For UC we still have 4 spots open:1 for Israel - decided tonight, 1 for San Marino, the loser of the play-off final, held 3rd June, 2 cup finals: Bosnia and Hungary, both held on 4th June. SO hang on a few more days and it will all be clear.....
27-05-08: And MTK is the new Hungarian champion as they have a forfeit win next matchday.
Still 3 CL and 6 UC teams to be comfirmed. we are awaiting today (27/5) still the San Marino play semi final, tomorrow last league MD of Azb and MAC. Also tmorrow is 1st leg of Hungarian cup. Then we have saturday the last 5 leagues ending their season. on 3 june San Marin is having it's play off final and a day later Hungary and Bosnia are having the return matches of their cupfinals.
Just in time before the EC starts!
25-05-08: Partizan is the next champion! Congratulations!
Still 4 CL spots to be confirmed: HUn, Bos, Azb and San Marino. And 7 UC spots.
24-05-08: And we have 6 more cupwinners! And some more doemestic matches were finished still a lot to finish. Beware in the overview that in Hungry Debreceb is now on top, but MTK is probably going to take first spot again and not leave it anymore....
22-05-08: And Celtic is the new Scottish champion! What a fallback in the last month of Rangers. Their full schedule surely has costed them the title. I feel sorry for them. Though again a Dutchman going confident to the EC: Vennegoor of Hesselink scored the winning goal for Celtic!
21-05-08: I forgot to include Georgia's last matchday yesterday, so I do that today. Further nothing happened, except for the PL match in Moscow.
Tomorrow follows the last matchday of Scotland, and so we keep getting more final data every day, with a big load coming up this weekend.
20-05-08: Ad another champion is known: Artmedia in Slovakia! 6 more champions to go. 13 leagues are still not finished. And also 13 cups are still to be awarded.
But tomorrow is Champions League final. I still think it's a pity it's all English. And that when England will not be at the EC.....This is a strange world. Over teh whole season I think Man. Utd is the better team, but despite I am very mych against the money politics and idea of that you can buy your CL title, I kind of feel for Chelsea. I actualy don't understand why. I prefer Ronaldo to Drogba, vdSar to Cech, etc.. Now I am writing this it sounds even more against myself. Why do I have this feeling.....
20-05-08: And one more champin is known: Domzale. 7 more to go. Rangers keep in track, but now is 4 goals behind - can they maek that up in the last matchday on Thursday? I'm afraid not. What an expensive point loss last weekend against Motherwell.
19-05-08: I forgot to put it up here, but I updated all sheets yesterday late last night: Ajax is out of CL, so Spartak Moscow is seeded. There is only one question left regarding the CL-Q seedings: Will Debrecen or Rapid Wien be seeded in CL-Q2? THis depends on if MTK or Debrecen wins the Hungarian championship. They are currently tied on the first place with 2 more matches to go.
Also in UC things are getting clearer and clearer. The 3 Fairplay spots are fillen in with manCity, HerthaBSC and NordSjaelland. More competitions have ended, most will end next weekend.
But first the Cl final, which might be considered as a PL match in Moscow (wasn't that what the PL wanted recently? The last Chelsea-ManchesterUnited match ended up in 2-1 for Chelsea. And Chelsea is playing a home match, thinking of Abramovic... So is Chelsea favorit??
17-05-08: And another day closer to the end: We saw Lyon winning and so taking the Franch title, Nancy losing to Rennes, meaning it will be Marseille playing in the CL-Q3, also Slavia got the Czech title and many more decisions have fallen. Still 9 more champions to go, 9 more spots to fill in the CL-participants-list. A bit more still to fill in the UC-participants list, but that too is getting pretty much decided.
15-05-08: Zenit won the Uefa Cup, Congratulations!
In th mean time we got again a bit closer to the end: AaB became champion in Denmark, we have more domestic cup winners known, we are all set for a new weekend full of decisive matches....
In the CL-GS only 2 spots are not blue: Ajax and Fiorentina, both will be decided this weekend. Of course in other countrie also decision will fal, like in France, Spain and many more.....
12-05-08: Wow Milan lost. Can they get back to their 4th position next week, or will they have to play UC? And Barca is almost losing their ot too. Luckily they have a better goaldifference, otherwise this could hae become serious!
Sorry for the short words in such a great period. But it's too good weather to sit inside. ;-)
11-05-08: Even the UC is starting to get blue, meaning that more and more teams get to be known. We are clearly in the end phase. We saw Galatasaray and Basel keeping their advantage today oin the last matchday, while SParta Praha lost it, thought there is still 1 MD to go to get it back, but if SLavia will be willing to give it back....not likely!
Tomorrow is the question of course can Milan keep their 4th position in the league, and can Sevilla get it to go to CL another year..
07-05-08: And Cluj made it. They are the new Romanian champion. In Germany the CL spots are given. Schalke and Werder only have to decide who will going directly to the GS. In Sspain Sevilla came a spot closer to the wanted CL-Q3 spot. It's all getting clearer now...
I have also added/updated the overview of the qualification for the 09/10 season, which makes use of the new format! Though I am using this seasons tables, I am already using the '08 summer league tables and the country and teamranking that is to be used for 09/10. It looks a bit the same, though the NonChampions Qualifiers for the CL will be very heavy. UC Q4 willl also be hard. It will be like CL Q3, but no falling down to a lower competition... Lots of big teams will start already earlier, during the summer holiday, that will mean big countries will lose already a team early! It will be interesting to watch. A pity we still have to wait a whole year....
04-05-08: And Real Madrid is champion, Inter not yet and also Lyon has brought some problems over them. Besides Sparta Praha lost, and so there are more championsips that take the title decisiosn to the last round. Like in Romania, where Steaua lost and now is trailing CLuj with 1 point. Wednesday is the final round. In Turkey Sivasspor could not win from Galatassaray and not the latter one is as good as the champion - final MD next weekend. In Portugal Sporting seems to have taken the second spot. Have a look at what's happening in Hungary or Bosnia - there are some thrilling last MD's to played.
THere are play-offs going on in Holland, Greece, Cyprus, San Marino. That's the new way?? Too much going on to tell here. Look at how close we are to the end, en dlook how many titles stilll haven't been decided yet...
CL-Q3 has raised its standard with Milan back, Steaua, Basel...Atletico Madrid is currently unseeded, can they become the not-wanted opponent??
03-05-08: And another round of domestic league matches. ManUtd took the last but one step towards championship, Madrid can become champion tomorrow, INter too, against their rivals AC Milan, Lyon droppoed points and in Germany for the second spot Schalke dropped points. Werder is now second, but they still have to play HSV and Leverkusen, now there it is interesting: keep looking out for those qualifiers the coming weeks....
02-05-08: What an unexpected UC final: Zenit-Rangers. I wouldn't have thought that would happen. Good news for Russia, who cought up with Romania, considering only the last 3 years. Meaning that they might be up for a long time in the top-6, leaving Romania out of it. Let's see what next year happens..
In the CL we got a final between the best 2 of the English PL. If there would have been play-offs in England, the same match would have been played. Maybe these are the best 2 teams from Europe, but I am not fond of such a final, sorry.
29-04-08: sorry for the late upload. I uploaded all new sheets and PDF's. The summer is starting, time to end the football season;). champions are getting closer, qualification more clear. This week all finalists of CL and UC will be known- have fun watching these semi's. Finals might not be as good to watch..
21-04-08(2): Ok the intertotodraw has been held. I included it now in the UC calculations. Not many surprises. It also means I have the Intertoto sheet for '08 made available.
I also added a guestbook for all who want say something about the sheets. Of course you can write an email, but Kaiser offered this opportunity and I will see how this works out.
21-04-08: Yeeaah, PSV champion. and ther are more: Standard, and Olympiakos - or not? we have to await tommorow
In Spain Sevilla is getting closer to a CL-Q3 spot, but Milan is not getting any closer as long as Fiorentina keeps winning. In England ManUtd slipped, making next weeks Chelsea-ManUtd very intersting: will the titlerace be completely open again???? In Turkey next weeks Fener-Gala gives Sivasspor a chance to sneal into the second position to claim a CL-Q3 spot? IN Netherlands the playoff will start with Heerenveen-Ajax and Twente-NAC. Ajax is in form lately and I give them the best chance. It woudl be best for Dutch coeffficient I guess....
14-04-08: And still is PSV no champion. I hope they don't lose it all next weekend. As I don't see them winning the play-off. If they don't get the title, then PSV will play UefaCup next year. They still lead by 3 points, with 1 match to go, but ut's not going wel....
In Spain Madrid is getting closer to the champioship, with Barca losing the second spot. In England Arsenal is out of the race and in Italy Inter stays just ahead of Roma, who got Totti back....
10-04-08: What a week it was. CL quarters with all the expected winners. It is getting a bit boring. Only 1 match was real firework: Liverpool-Arsenal. With again Liverpool getting to the semifinal against again Chelsea.
On the other hand there were the UC quarters. It was hard to predict which teams would qualify. Maybe Bayern was the most expected, but not anymore after their first match. And what a spectacle it has brought to get them to the semifinal in the end. Rangers and Fiorentina won away games to qualify unexpectedly after the first leg(?).This is the way I like to see the European cups - lots of spectacle, lots of unexpected results, not to see the same usual suspects like every other year.
06-04-08: Though not all matches of the weekend have been played yet Here is an update of all sheets (also in PDF) sofar.
31-03-08: While we, of course, are awaiting the first leg of the quarterfinals also the leagues are getting more and more interesting. That is, decisions are getting closer. While in England Liverpool cam a big step closer to the 4th place in the league, in Spain, Italy and Germany things are getting much more unknown. But the end of the competitions is getting closer, so there will be som close endings: will Sevilla play CL, will Milan, will Bremen, Sporting seems to be missing out too this year. And which of the Boekarest clubs will join Cluj.......
But first the quarterfinals. While in CL there seem to be big favorites for every tie (ManUtd, Barca, Chelsea and Arsenal(slightly) in UC it is all much closer: PSV or Fiorentina (battle of the goalkeepers?), Sporting or Rangers, Leverkusen or Zenit, and finaly Bayern or Getafe. Bayern seems ther a real favorit, but I really wouldn't be surprised to see Getafe being ictorious at the end of next week.....
Finaly some technical updates here: on the forum one suggested to make pdf files of my sheets for 2 reasons:
1 this is also readable in non-MS browsers like Firefox and Mozilla.
2 the size is much smaller of these kind of files
So I tried it. as well the old sheets are available as the new pdf files. As this is actualy putting the sheets on kind of pages, I have split up the leagueview and the teamranking over a couple of pages, while I kept the others on 1 page. Please let me know what you think about the pdf files, are they an enahncement, can I stop the delivering of the old sheets? Any comment will be taken into account!!
24-03-08: Another week closer to all the champions. Inter and Madrid stumbled, opening a chance for Barca and Roma, or not yet... ManUtd looking stronger and stronger, Lyon, Bayern, Porto and PSV going up for the title....
20-03-08: Wow, I did it! I also created a UC sheet for when using the new format. There are still some problems to be solved, of course, but the basic is there. I have used in Q1-Q3 regional groupings and Q4 it all comes together. This leads to some odd numbers which I let for now, that need to be addressed later. Also the TH spot I let to be used, which is very unlikely to be happening, but I have no idea yet how to cope with that.
First view is there of the new Groupstage is there!
18-03-08: I have started working on the new format. Starting with the CL - the easy one. I have created a sheet that's currently based on the countryranking of 2007, so to see how it would look like if already next year there would be the new format. In the end little change: Celtic seems to be the major victim. But all changes in GS are in pot 4.
17-03-08: Another weekend closer to decisions. In Holland there are only 5 more matches to go, before the championship is decided. Of course there are still play-offs after that, but it starts to look a bit like last year: PSV is slowly losing their advantage....
Also in England things are getting closer to eachother: Arsenal lost again points and ManUtd now took over the elad. But also Chelsea is just behind these two.
I have added a link to Edgars Blog site, he write intersting stuff about coefficients of WC-seeding and much more. Have a look.
14-03-08: And all CL&UC quarterfinalists are known. Where England dominates teh CL, they lost all 3 in the UC. But looking at predicted countryranking, England is getting very close to Spain. Only due to Getafe they are still number one. A big loss in UC are Benfica and Bremen, they were high on the coefficient list, but could not make it. Therfor Portugal seems to now end up the 8th spot, where they were going to the 6th. Also of course due to Zenit great performance Russia will be 6th. They will have the 3 CL candidates in the new format of 2009/2010! 05-03-08: ON request of the forum I already put an update of the predictionsheet for the team/countryranking '08. With Madrid and Sevilla out, England is getting close to Spain now! And due to the elimination of Porto, also the 6th spot is an extremely close battle. Zenit vs Benfica and Sporting. I think Russia will win this.....
04-03-08: I survived the wonderland of snow - how wonderful this is, and how expensive, well, it's only once in a year, or couple of years. A pity it started raining at the end of the week.
OK, winterbreak is over, all leagues are getting ready to define their champions and other European spots. For the last time for the 'old' schedule. Next season will be different.
Going through the domesitc leagues, I already had to start to whiten some clubs. The final race has begun!
This week is again a full week of CL and UC, in CL we lose half of the clubs again, some big names will be eliminated, it could end up a disastrous week for Italy when Milan and Roma and go out this week and maybe Inter and Fiorentina next week? It would be a big surprise if no Italian is left, but it is not impossible, all matches are tough! It would also mean a lot of English teams get through, meaning a real attack on Spains first position. I am hoping for a ManUtd-Real Madrid final. In UC I hope PSV can play with a solid defense as they can. With a draw or a 1 goal loss they should be happy. Tottenham has improved since the fall-matches, PSV needs to stay focussed.
22-02-08: I couldn't resist looking at the graph of yearpredictions. Nothing really has changed. I was looking for England to overtake Spain, but they wen t down. I don't know why. I saw Bolton was supposed to win this tie, as they have the higher coefficient, but Villarreal was surely not meant to lose? We'll see what happens. Germany is going strong to get near France again.
Warning: starting this Friday-22-2-08 I will be on vacation for a week. Possibly next update will be only in March!
18-02-08: And more weekend results are in.
Are you all ready for another week full of European matches! CL is starting also again this week. Many matches seem to have a clear winner, who would go for Celtic or Olympiakos, but surprises do happen, and maybe these wil come closer than let's say a Lyon win over Man.Utd! What will happen with Roma and Real Madrid, a great fight! And what about Milan and Liverpool, doing not very good in their local league, but these are teams that always perform in CL....
In UC return matches are following. A pity all are played on Thursday. Will we see surprises? Zenit for instance...? It could be good for PSV, as PSV is just below Villarreal in the teamranking. With some more luck it could mean rising to pot 1 in next years CL, but that is still a looong way to go. first we lose 16 teams this week. I hope PSV will manage....
12-02-08: Last weekend matches are in
Tomorrow the UefaCupmatches start again. Finaly some serious movements in the ranking can happen, though I guess it's mostly top 10 that is playing. Interesting enough. The fight for a seeded spot in CL-Q3 is still influenced by coming matches. Maybe mostly even in the UC! Spartak, Everton, Atletico, Slavia, Galatasaray and Fiorentina all are now on a spot that puts them in CL-Q3. And all just above or beneath the seeding line. With a good run in UC they can become seeded, with a bad run they can become unseeded....
06-02-08: Wow, it's been a lon gtime. Too long I know, but this Soccerway keeps changing their tables and now I got a problem with the coding - therefor Bayern, Fenerbahce and Zurich have some strange characters, but their coefficient should be correct - if one is not correct please report.
The second half od the season starts now. It starts to be getting clearer who will win/fight for the title:In Spain Madrid is ahead, but showed last weekend that nothing is certain yet, but besides Barcelona others are too far away. In England Arsenal loks strong, with Manchester up their neck. Chelsea doesn't seem to have it (again) this year. In Italy Inter is miles ahead, the only questionI have is will Fiorentina manage to stay in top 4(probably not). In France it's old Lyon again, though not far ahead (yet). Who can really challenge Bayern this year? In Portugal is Porto unbeatable(?). In Romania will be the question if CLuj can keep up te good work in the second half of the season. In Holland PSV have taken a lead the last month with away wins at Feyenoord, Ajax and AZ. Currently I don't see another team getting even close to them anymore...
With Milan, Liverpool and Sevilla going to UC, PSV is looking at a possible pot 1 qualification, that would be too much, but if they would manage to get far in UC it really stays a possibility. For Fenerbahce to get in pot 3 they still need some points and the same teams have to stay in UC, Sevilla is one they should handle themselves
07-01-08: Happy new year to everybody!
It has been a few weeks since the last update, but now it's there. There are not many leagues plying in this time of year, but there are. Mainly commonwelth. And, due to the play-offs, Holland.
Due to some error in my predictionsheet I had to give a few countries a few more points: Portugal(0.5), Finland(0.27), Romania(0.1) and a few more. Sorry for this. I recalculated everything and Portugal is now way ahead to reach 6th spot.
20-12-07: UC matches are now accounted for. I put the latest countryranking '08 prediction on. Holland drops from 6th spot to 9th as AZ lost :(. Well it seems Portugal will take it, though AZ fault made Zenit being able to give Russia another shot.....
16-12-07: Updated with CL matches and latest league games. In Cl nothing unexpected happened, that's why predicted cntryranking 08 did not change much'. This week it will change more: WHat will happen in group A: will AZ qualify, and/or Zenit- this will influence largely chances of Holland and Russia of possibly reaching 6th spot. Though it will not influence this prediction, it is more intersting, I think: the draw for the next 2 rounds!
09-12-07: updated with latest leaguegames. I'm awaiting latest CL matches, Will Liverpool and Lyon make it?...
06-12-07: Oops I messed up with the page. I put an updated predition country&teamranking. it's all so close for spot 6, spot 10 and 13. Incredible.
Next 2 weeks will be last md for a lot of teams, a few had already it this week. After these 2 weeks the number of countries will be reduced that still will be playing - no more 'small countries. Well Sweden will still be there!. And who else....
29-11-07: I have updated my predictionsheets with the results of this week \. Germany had a fantastic week, France not, also less were Russia and Portugal, while Holland managed to win their both games (both 1-0). Result is that the predicted yearranking puts Holland now 6th - caused by PSV winning the uefacup now.
25-11-07: After the Euroqualifiers have finsihed now with quit a remarkable ending - no England - we now start the leagues again and the CL&UC. Again a matchweek just after 2 international matches. I can't imagine this is the best preparation for such a week....
I included the league-results sofar, more results will be included in the following week, where my thoughts will be concentrated on the CL and UC groups. Especially the CL groups are getting closer to their ending WHich teams will qualify and which teams will be out. Especially I am looking forward to Tuesdays CSKA-PSV match, of course. Will PSV manage to get at least a point, to secure the UC position, or will they be out with a loss or consider next CL-round with a win. Also the Inter-Fener match will be of influence there. Will Fener get top-spot? Or will Inter keep Fener down (making the away match against PSV a obligatory waist of time.....?)
Other questions will be: will Liverpool and Lyon get back in business in time? Can Rosenborg and Olympiakos bring more surprises. And for our Romanian friends: Will Steaua get revenge on Slavia, and keep the hope on a UC-spot?
12-11-07: Monday evening again - updating all legue matches of the weekend. Summer leagues are as good as over. Tonight I read that Platini's proposal made it, excluding -as expected- teh CupWinner part. That's not good news for Holland, Portugal, Scotland, etc. Their second team will have it much harder to qualify with the last-qualifier of the top-16 playing eachother for 4 spots. It enables more champions in the CL, which I like, but the cost should have been made by the top-3/top-5 countries, not 6-16.
08-11-07: I couldn't wait I have updated my predictions sheets to see what the consequences were of this weeks matches. As I am watching for the 6th & 8th countryline a lot happened in CL"Benfica lost and looks to become 4th in the group. PSV lost too, and now looks to be ending on spot 3, there being second seed after Liverpool. The UC matches might have been surprising, but did not change that much in the order of the groups (yet). All in all we can see Russia rising, up to 6th spot. Holland gained some predicted points due to PSV downfall, and Portugal and Germany lost some.
Also the fight for spot 15/16 Is becoming very interesting. Bulgaria is lost I'm afraid, but Switzerland, Greece and Norway, all have their chances still!
05-11-07: And some more domestic league matches are in. The summer leagues are getting to their end.
Meanwhile we have another European week this week lots of CL and UC matches this week. Slowly we will see which teams will qualify and which will be eliminated in the groupstages....
28-10-07: As I know some of you will be waiting for new values and I won't be able to tomorrow morning, here are some intermediate values. Not all results of Sunday evening are in yet. a domestic cup week is coming. I hope to get some time to put some domestic results in my sheets.
26-10-07: I updated the predictions of the country& teamranking at the end of the year. It's funny to see that in UC every match changes the order of teams already, where in CL it doesn't work that fast, only now changes are appearing there. In UC already some changes have happened. for instance Sparta P is on 4th spot(from 2 and Zurich on 3 (form 5), more chages have happened, but not(yet) in qualification for next round, though 2nd or 3rd already can make a difference. All is based on higher coefficient winning at home, drawing away.
Interesting fights awaits us still for the 6-9th spot and for 13-16th spot. All could be decided by 1 team qualifying or not. Can Steaua qualify for UC? can PSV eliminate CSKA and go themselves to UC or do they go to CL. The lst thing seems less interesting(getting less points after winter), but means PSV got more points before winter! What will the portugues clubs in the CL do? all have still a lot of chances to go to CL, UC or be out.
This weekend another round in domestic league - maybe another summer-champion?
23-10-07: I had some troubles getting the latest version of my sheets uploaded, but finally I managed. Some champions are known already, some summer leagues are extending the decision till the last matchday, like Sweden looks to be doing.
Tonight again CL, PSV and Fenerbahce have the first confrontation to decide who will join Inter to the second round. I (luckily) just saw that Inter managed to score 1-2, which will take CSKA a bit further out of the race. PV and Fenerbahce will really decide it between them. ALso tonight: who will grab their last chance, Stuttgart or Lyon... Later this week the UCGS starts.
08-10-07: Well , I had a busy weekend-not really time for computerwork. But anyway I guess fir now the Monday evening will become my update evening. Tonight I implemented the CL-GS in my yearranking predictions. Due to some results teams now go to CL-R2 iso go tou (Rangers!), etc. This does influence the ranking of course. Most of all the Uefacup R1 returns were of influence. Quit a massacre for Holland. But also for Italy, France, Romania and more top-10 countries it was bad. Germany and Russia profit from this. In the predictions they end up on place 5 & 6. But the fight for 6 is still very much open (at least on paper) with only 2.5 points difference between the 6th spot and the 9th (and that is ofcourse quit in difference in reward-unless Platini& Co changes it soon). On the graph you can see the downfall of Romania and Holland and the rise of Portugal and the straight line of Russia all within eachothers grip.
In the mean time the summer leagues start to end: Tampere Utd is the new Finish champion, while in Russia Zenit lost to make it a tight call, in Sweden it's 3 teams witin a point, in Norway Brann is cruising to the title. Have a look at all the summer leagues, it's decision time there!
01-10-07: The updates of the domestic leagues will not be anymore done every monday morning as I was used to do. I got a new job and first I got to prove myself there before I can take some time every monday morning. I will try to do it every monday evening, maybe even with already some updates on sunday evening, but still some matches are then being played and not everything is known then yet.
We got a interesting week coming up. In CL all the away teams will play athome now and it will be a bit more clear how the relations a in a group are. But probably all will still be more or less open. In UC however this week 40 teams will drop out, while the other 40 will play at least another 4 matches. That is a huge difference in coefficient, points, money. Will Greece put up another splendid week? Will Portugal another bad one?...
24-09-07: And a superweekend has passed. There was Man.United-Chelsea (after Mourinho's leave interesting to see what will happen...), Barcelona-Sevilla and PSV-Feyenoord/AZ-Ajax and probably more top-matches.
The summer leagues are getting closer to their end and every match ther could be decisive for losing the championship. Follow it up close!
13-09-07: Finally domestic league info is complete and so the sheets for next year are there. I hope I got all teamnames translated right and so no missing coefficients. Just in time for the 'real'season to start.
11-09-07: I am still busy updating all the domestic league data to get the new predictions for the partticipationlist of 08/09. It doesn't help when I throw away all the work every now and then-or Soccerway changes all again. Well I am getting close now. I still have to update it for the lates domestic view stands and I hope Soccerway does not change everything again.
I saw on Bert's forum a request for the predictions I made last year. I have that already updated with the latest scores and draws. Those links on the left should work, the rest will be added soon. I hope/suppose. Without work I should have all the time of the world, but I have less time behind a PC as before. And I already start working again in 3 weeks.....
05-08-07: Finally the new page is here. At least this start page is. All the other pages still have to be made. I am still busy with the domestic leagues and domestic cups, so also the candidates for CL and UC of 08/09 are not available yet.
But I do have made my predictions for the country- and team-ranking '08. On request of Ryan I have added a nice graphical view of the changes in coefficient-prediction during the season. As we have already had some matches and decisions, actualy there can be already seen some changes. I myself find the bottom countries hard to see, but in general it looks fine. Thanks for the idea Ryan! Please all tell me what you think of it.
In the predictions you can see that Germany has a nice year ahead. Due to the 'loss' of the Dutch and Russian Intertoto team, they both are getting closer to eachother AND to Romania.
Question this year will be if there will be a fight about the 15th spot. Currently Bulgaria and Czechia are clear ahead of Greece and Switzerland. Greece with 6 team ('luckily' OFI lost too) looks a mission impossible, while Switzerland is even further behind....
