Paul Webber - Lead Guitar
Paul Michael Webber, has had much to put up with in life so far. "As a
child, I was often my brothers outlet for anger when he came back from
the
pub and felt the need to beat something. I guess it all comes down to
brotherly love in the end," he sustains as he shows us the scars on his
back
where he was once flogged.Standing a strapping 6'2" and weighing a sturdy 163lb, baby-faced Paul, once the wearer of the thickest glasses in England, is a tortured soul. "As a child I was bullied horribly. Mother used to say 'Oi four eyes, get off your arse and come and pop these boils on my back you prick!' It all sounds so normal now and we do look back and laugh at it."
"I find that music is a real outlet of emotion for me, I suppose you could say it's my radar! When I first picked up a guitar I felt I'd found a part of me that was missing, as if a hole had been filled." Indeed Paul has now left School to concentrate on his career in music. Asked to comment on this he said "Well at school I just felt my talent was wasted with those neanderthals, they just kept trying to make me go and I was like no. The only thing I can see myself doing in ten years time is being a rock 'n' roll star and I think Jalfrezi could be the vehicle to get me there."
When quizzed about his band mates Paul exclaimed "Yeah they're great guys," In the past however concern has been shown about the musical abilities of some of his band mates. "Well obviously Mark is not the greatest bass player in the world, and he is the first to admit this, but my extreme genius guitar virtuoso skills more than make up for this, and quite often we don't even turn Mark's amp on anyway."
