Growing Bigger
Some of the nurses that took care of me used to like to dress me up in little outfits and take pictures of me to surprise Daddy and Mommy..  This picture was taken when I was 37 days old.  I weighed 2 pounds, 2 ounces.
This is another picture that the nurses took.  I was 6 1/2 weeks old  here.  I weighed 2 pounds, 7 ounces .
When I was 7 weeks old, just before Easter, I developed Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), which is a serious problem with the intestines.  I was lucky my nurse noticed a problem with me very quickly, so I didn't have to have surgery.  But I did have to go back on the ventilator and have all the tubes put back in me for awhile, so I could go on antibiotics.  When I got better, Mommy got to dress me in the Easter dress that Nana and Papa sent me, and take pictures.  I even got to sit in a carseat for the pictures.  I was 10 weeks old  here, and I weighed 3 pounds, 12 ounces.
I'm finally going home!  Daddy had to get me to take one more bottle before we were allowed to leave.  It took awhile, but I finally finished the whole thing.  After 82 days, we left the NICU on April 29th, 1999, at 7:45 PM.  I weighed 4 lbs., 8 oz.
