Introduction
A Brief History...
The R L S building belonged to Henry Ford the establisher of the Ford Motor Company. The first stone was laid on 20 September 1948 in the reign of King Farouq.
On 27 October 1992 Mr. Mohamed Ragab bought Ford Factory and in 1993 founded Riada Language School after redecorating the building. The school premises at that time consisted of the: K G department on the ground floor and the Junior department and administration on the first floor. The playground areas are on both sides of the school building. In 1996-1997 the 2nd floor was built where the Middle and Senior schools and the I G C S E classes are now located. R L S is now a complete school consisting of 4 departments; Playschool & Kindergarden, Junior, Middle and Senior school.

Students
The Play school consists of 6 classes. Children are accepted at the age of 3, and are automatically transferred to the K G Department the following year.
The students are very carefully selected and have to pass an interview before they are admitted. The Junior School consists of 25 classes, 5 of each stage. The Middle School consists of 15 classes. It was started in 1995. The Senior School which was started in 1996 consists of Thanaweya Aama and IGCSE classes. The maximum number of students in each of the KG, Junior, Middle and Senior classes is 30 students. The school does not encourage or support private lessons and teachers are not permitted to give private lessons to any of our students. Students who need extra help are given remedial lessons organized by the school during school hours. Parents are always kept informed of the progress of their children. Tests are set twice during the first term and twice during the second term and reports are sent home. Discipline problems are dealt with strictly and on the spot. The school offers a wide variety of activities both indoors and outdoors. The school is open on Saturdays for students who want to participate in sports such as basket ball, football, handball, table tennis, aerobics and gymnastics. Students are encouraged to participate in competitions, exhibitions, concerts, excursions and festivals of all kinds inside or outside the school. The school involves the students in social and charity activities to try to implant in them a willingness to participate in charitable work. Visits are arranged to different charity institutions several times during the year and students are encouraged to donate to good causes such as: supporting orphans and mentally handicapped children and paying the expenses of major operations performed by volunteer surgeons. In addition to all facilities offered by the school, the school's greatest asset lies in its staff members all of whom are highly qualified and dedicated to their profession. Training courses are organized to keep the teaching staff and administrative staff up to date with all the new developments in the different fields of their work. Since we started in 1992 we have managed in a short time to gain the respect and admiration of the citizens of Alexandria and we hope to go on doing so for a long time to come.
