                                                   Housing

Hamsters need a cage. You can use a tank, but you will need a screen top. I don't recommend you using a tank because you can't get the tunnels to stick out of the sides, you can only let him/her crawl through it on the ground. In a cage they can do that. In a cage you will need wood shavings, a food dish and a hamster water bottle. It helps if you have a rotating wheel, so your hamster gets some  exercise. Something to climb as well. Hamsters love to climb.Another good thing to have is a house to hide in. Hamsters are very shy. Tunnels are optional. When you first get your hamster, don't attach tunnels right from the beginning, or your hamster will never come out of them unless they want to drink, or to gather food. Hamsters love to dig, so you may see that your hamster will hide in the wood shavings. Clean your hamsters cage out every week or it will start to smell.
I have never bred hamsters. So I don't know much about it. If you want great breeding tips and advice click here.
