| Pet stores have many domestic animals available, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish. Lots of pet stores also sell exotic pets such as reptiles, amphibians, and birds. | Many people want to adopt a cute puppy or kitten, but there are many adult dogs and cats at the Humane Society who will make excellent pets. Puppies and kittens can be a handful and they grow up quickly. Within less than a year, they will look just like those adult dogs and cats! Have you ever heard the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Here's a little secret: it's not true! Adult dogs are often easier to train than puppies, just because they are a bit older, wiser, and calmer. Puppies, kittens, and adult pets can be adopted from your local Humane Society, SPCA, or Animal Shelter. |
