Curriculum Connections
Based on the Saskatchewan Evergreen Curriculum, this WebQuest incorporates all of the Common Essential Learnings:

  - Communication
   - Critical and Creative Thinking
   - Personal and Social Values and Skills
   - Technological Literacy
   - Numeracy
   - Independent Learning


This WebQuest will assist in addressing the following Curriculum standards. (This may vary between individual groups, as each decides on a different way to present the final project.)

Grade Four


Language Arts: Writing

Students will be able to write to express information, thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a variety of forms for a variety of purposes and audiences.
   - express and explain points of view and provide reasons or evidence in writing
   - choose from and experiment with a variety of forms for a variety of purposes

Language Arts: Representing


Students will be able to represent to express information, thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a variety of forms for a variety of purposes and audiences.
   - choose medium and information appropriate to audience and purpose
   - combine oral, print, and other media to communicate information, ideas, and experiences

Math: Measurement: Money


Students will be able to solve a variety of problems relating to money.

Students will be able to add and subtract amounts of money using correct symbols.

Health: Skills/Abilities


Students will develop their ability to make decisions.
   - determine the issue and set an objective
   - reflect on what they know and feel about an issue
   - gather and evaluate information from a variety of sources
   - suggest several possible courses of action and explore the long and short term                           consequences of these actions
   - make decisions based on their analysis of the choices

Grade Five

Language Arts: Reading


Students will be able to answer inquiry or research questions using a variety of information sources.


Language Arts: Writing


Students will be able to write to express information, thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a variety of forms for a variety of purposes and audiences.
   - understand and compose in a variety of forms and genres (eg., poems, articles, news                 reports)
   - express and support a point of view with evidence and reasons

Language Arts: Representing


Students will be able to represent to express information, thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a variety of forms for a variety of purposes and audiences.
   - convey ideas and information using a variety of media and formats including illustrations,            dramatizations, tableaux, diagrams, posters, videos, maps, graphs, cartoons, dioramas, and       charts
   - choose images, words, and sounds appropriate to audience, purpose, and effect

Math: Measurement: Money


Students will be able to solve a variety of problems relating to money.
