Well , of course you've guessed - I presume!!!- Rhonda and Marina aren't related , despite their remarkably similar appearance!
In case you are wondering ,Marina is a character from the 1960's TV programme 'Stingray' , along similar lines to 'Thunderbirds'.
According to her biog, Marina is the daughter of Aphony , leader of the underwater city of Pacifica , which explains why she was such a great swimmer! She was kidnapped but rescued by the Stingray guys and she became an invaluable crew member. Marina is mute but makes herself understood by her expressive body language -another similarity to Rhonda - but not the mute bit !
In fact , rumour has it that the lovely Marina puppet was modelled on legendary beauty Brigette Bardot- so , Rhonda is in great company looks wise! |
